Lmao...

I like Shane.

I can be a bit overbearing.

So, I just wanted to be clear that I wasn't picking on him.
Obviously you have waaaaaaaaaay more patience than me. I just can't with him.

Wait you think $3 mil before taxes will keep LeBron from going wherever he has the best chance to win? Dude's worth like $400 mil or something.

Why do you fight everyone on every comment almost? You can't really believe there's any noticeable difference between $35 and $38 mil to him vs winning.
This isn't difficult. YOU are the one fighting, yet again, even though the proof has come from THE HORSES MOUTH. LBJ has already said MULTIPLE times he ain't giving any more discounts.

You just had to eat a big bowl of crow when it came out that Klay & GS are working on an extension, like we told you he would. You don't learn so quickly do you?
Why do you pick battles where you're clearly wrong? My goodness get your $h!t together, for real.

You are the pissiest little girl on the Hoop goodness gracious. $3 mil is not a discount to LeBron James.

It depends on what you mean by discount. He's not signing with anyone for 1 penny less than that team is allowed to pay him.

If I understand the cap correctly, the Cavs can offer him more than anyone else. So, no matter where he goes, it will be at a discount compared to the Cavs.

The Cavs can offer him a max of 5 years/$205 million ($41 million per year)which would be the richest contract in NBA history. Other teams can offer him 4 years/$152 million ($38 million per year).

Because of the Cavs cap situation, if he decides to stay in Cleveland, he will be choosing having the richest contract in league history on a team that is no longer a viable contender and doesn't have much way to improve.

If he wants titles, then he will leave and forego getting the richest deal in NBA history.

LeBron James could become the richest player in NBA history if he opts out of his Cleveland contract

Not necessarily an easy decision, but I think he'll likely choose titles. It would add more to his legacy than having the richest contract.

Correct. And as I mentioned earlier, the most any team other than Cle can offer him is $38 mil/yr. So if the Sixers only offer him $35 mil that clearly would be him giving a discount if he accepted.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if he did that.

About the only way he would is if he believed that the Sixers were the only team that he can go to that would give him a legit shot at a title. But they're not, so it would be surprising if he went there for less.

Honestly, I think he'd be smart to take that deal in Philly. He would still be handsomely paid, plus be competing for championships. He'd also be able to rest & allow Simmons/Emiid do a lot of the heavy lifting this time around. But, I doubt he does it too.

The problem is that Simmons needs the ball in his hands to truly be effective.

Is Lebron going to be okay with that?

Are the Sixers going to be okay with Lebron essentially taking over Simmons duties?

We've seen what the Sixers can do with Simmons running their offense and being inexperienced. Imagine what he'll be like next year with a season plus playoffs under his belt.

A similar argument has been made re: the Lakers and Lonzo. But, imo, the difference is that Simmons runs the Sixers offense, while Lonzo does more starting the offense, setting the pace and making sure the ball keeps moving.

Lonzo was among the tops in the league in how quickly he got the ball out of his hands.
