That's not how it works.

You would still be over the cap.

Remember all the " Highest payroll ever" talk?

I think the cap is around 103 mil.

Your 2018 Payroll is almost 140.

You lose two salaries and you are still over that.

Math beats hope every time, my friend.

I'm not trying to Shit on you. But, you have to be realistic.

Your only hope is for a dollar for dollar trade.

Nobody is giving you treasure for trash without attaching assets or eating a bad deal.

Ex.... Hornets give you Kemba. But, you have to take Batum too.

You give them Hill and a pick.

There's also been rumblings and whispers that Kawhi prefers to head back home and play for a team here in Cali.

Not sure for which team or how realistic...but there are 4 possible options.

Yep. That's why I think their best long term solution might be to just let Lebron go, try to trade Love for picks and an expiring contract or 2, spend next season getting their heads kicked in and try to move some of those bad contracts as expiring deals after next season.
If he decides to bolt, the Cavs best hope is a Clippers CP3 trade return.

Maybe he will want to go to a over the cap team that's willing to part with assets.

Yep.

Say he wants to go to the Lakers and that's Lebron's choice too.

If I'm the Cavs, I'd ask him to pick up his option and trade him there before the Spurs get all the good young guys on that roster.....lol

You know what would be funny?

If LeBron walks, the Cavs should ship Love back to Minny for Wiggins.

I was just thinking it would be a reset.

Plus, I think Lue is gone.

That little health bender and not being able to get zilch out of Hood, Clarkson, Nance or Hill should be the final nail in his coffin.

Ohh fuck I forgot Lebron had an option year. IF he was off the books they could but yeah they can only do sign and trades and match salaries. My bad :L

How about let's wait until Boston wins a game in Cleveland first before popping the champagne.

They still couldn't.

Because they would have to renounce James to sign somebody else and wouldn't be able to get him back. Even then, because they are so far over the cap, renouncing LeBron would merely get them back to the cap line.

You think Lebron is going to want to take a chance on Boogie's Achilles? With the Cavs cap situation, what 2 way wing are you getting that's going to entice Lebron to stay and take a chance on Boogie's Achilles?
Not only that, but I'm sure NO will want to try to keep Boogie - sign him to a short deal in case he doesn't heal right & isn't close to the player he was prior to the injury.

I don’t want this to happen but it could:

The Sixers sign Lebron and pay him $35 mil, give or take.

Contracts on the books for 18-19:

Embiid $25.25 mil
Covington 10.46
Bayless 8.57 mil (I think they trade him)
Fultz 8.33 mil
Simmons 6.43
Saric 3.28
Luwawu 1.88
Anderson 2.52
Holmes 1.6 (player option)
Mcconnell 1.6

That’s 69.92 mil

You trade Bayless for some assets maybe a draft pick - 61.35

Add Lebron and you are at give or take 96.35 mil

You trade Fultz 8.33 mil, Saric 3.28 (maybe Luwawu) and your 10th pick for Kawhi (20.09 mil)

Your cap is at 104.83 mil and you can bring back JJ, he wont make as much most likely maybe 10 or so but he would probably take it with this roster.

Their cap is still not even 115 mil and you have this lineup:

Simmons
Redick
Kawhi
Lebron
Embiid

Still a pretty good bench.

Mcconell
Covington
Luwawu
Holmes
Add in a couple veterans...
You truly are clueless. You think LBJ is going to sign for $35mil a season w/ the Sixers??? He can get $38 mil from ANY team not named the Cavs. LOL I'm not sure why people keep thinking he's going to be handing out team discounts at this stage in his career - especially when he already told us his goal is the be the first basketball player to make a billion $. SMH

Lmao...

I like Shane.

I can be a bit overbearing.

So, I just wanted to be clear that I wasn't picking on him.

Wait you think $3 mil before taxes will keep LeBron from going wherever he has the best chance to win? Dude's worth like $400 mil or something.

Why do you fight everyone on every comment almost? You can't really believe there's any noticeable difference between $35 and $38 mil to him vs winning.
