Quick look at over the cap tells me the Jags and 49ers could do it no problem. They have like 53 million in cap space.

Franchise & transition tag guys can be traded. Teams own their player's rights.

But I doubt if any team would trade for him without already having a long term deal agreed upon.

A franchised player isn't unsigned. A franchise tag is basically a one year deal that pays that player something like the average of the top 5 players at his position. Thus, he's under contract when tagged and is thus eligible to be traded.

If you believe a player who wants to average $15 mil a season can be worked into a future cap without seriously killing your cap for years to come, I have some bridges in Arizona to sell you.

And if the rams really wanted to pay out for 2 CBs, they should have just kept the younger JJ at a far cheaper price. 5/$62 for a 28 year old is a lot better than 5/$75 for a 29 year old.
