One of the most important things the owner does is find the right people to run his team and understand that he is NOT the one to be making the daily decisions on the direction of the team. That is why Jerry Jones is a horrible owner. What other owner would have not fired Jerry Jones the GM after his performance over the last 20 years?
Dan Snyder?????

But I'd call his unwillingness to fire Jerry the GM more about EGO than being a bad owner. Do you think if another GM under him had the same record his job would be safe?

....and returned the team to it's rightful home, where it will receive the local support it deserves.
The Rams don't make the playoffs for a decade in LA and those seats will be empty, too

Kroenke is still employing Jeff Fisher and moved his team from his home state, slandering its city to make cash.

Exactly.

The names of worst owners in the NFL starts and ends with Kroenke.

I was getting mad at this thread because his name didn't show up until post #20.

Robert Kraft

Paid a mass murderer $40,000,000 and fostered a culture of lies, deceit and rampant cheating.

The day he dies is a great day for football.

I'm a COWBOY fan, somewhat of an expert.
Who hires the GM for a football team, for the most part?
The owner .....And that would be, the same guy who fired a coach who had been the real GM and had won two consecutive Super Bowls.....that guy

Jerry I put a spin on everything Jones

Name the owners with more than 3 rings in the History of the NFL.

There has to be a ton of them right?

He hired all the right people and got 3 rings for it.

I don't care how long ago it was it still happened. Judge Jerry on his entire history not just a selected portion of it.

Jerrah isn't a bad owner. He gives his fans a world class facility to watch games in with all the amenities you could wish for. He's not a cheapskate with salary for the players. If anything, the guy is always getting in trouble because of the deals he creates to bust the cap.

Jerrah is just a flat out terrible GM. That's where the problem is with that organization.

Mark Davis is the worst owner in the NFL. Nobody wants to do business with him or his team as they've been mediocre at best for decades now. The stadium is a total dump.
He doesn't even have the capital to back the team anymore. The Raiders can't even afford to pay for a roster of players at the current salary cap. They've become the welfare case of the NFL.
Feel bad for their loyal fans. They deserve better.
I know it would be a legal nightmare, but the NFL should force a sale.

At one point...that would fly. I'm not sure about now...DAL has enough talent to win the DIV.

Well, then If he is putting his ego over his team then that makes him an even worse owner...

Worst owner in the league and yes it's because of his decisions on the player personnel side. When he steps out of those decisions, then he can be judged on the pretty art work in his stadium or how many jerseys he sells. And of course it matters on how long ago it was; that's just dumb. Why did the Giants fire Coughlin? Back then he was pushed aside and that is why the team had success. Now he is the one pushing others aside and the results reflect that. The last few years he has been less of a factor in the draft (or we would have the disaster that is Manziel over our All Pro Guard) and the picks have been better because of it. Let's hope that continues and let's hope there are less Hardys being signed too...

How can you not include the Bills in there?! At least Snyder has had his team in the playoffs a few times in the past few decades.

Because the Bills have new ownership as of 2014?

New ownership...same results. I think the organization should be included in the Top 5. Any team that's been this irrelevant for this long should not escape such a list just because they changed a face somewhere on the leadership pyramid.

Your bitter when it comes to Jerry, God knows he gave us all enough reasons to be. But there will always be something wrong when you allow the bitter emotions of recent failures to deny the existence of Jerry past accomplishments.

Yea, you have stupid shit like the art work. But I see the Art work but i also see that it sits inside one of the worlds
top sports venues.

We have been arguing this since day one. I only care to do it once a year so we are good till 2017.

I would say it has to be the Ford's. No team has been in the league longer and done as little as Detroit. I mean even a blind squirrel can find a nut every once in a while but somehow Detroit still continues to fail year after year.

Whoever currently owns the Browns, that is my answer. That place is a giant clusterfuck. I just hope the new HC doesn't get tainted by his tenure there.

There was a time I would have said Danny Boy led the pack here. Thankfully no longer king of the hill.

I think most COWBOY fans give Jerry full credit for hiring a former college buddy and a national championship college coach... duh......He made the one phone call, and that's about it. And Jimmy did the rest. And then Jerry wrecked the situation of a possible threepeat, because of his ego. Jerry has wrecked the COWBOYS for the last 20 plus years.
Jerry Jones the owner, would have fired Jerry Jones the GM 15 years ago
And the logic by some, that Jerry Jones is a rich guy who has built a so called stadium and that it is a big deal, is wrong. I could care less.
I believe the COWBOYS have won two playoff games in the last 20 years.

And this is not an isolated incident. Too many to list. And he is in denial....He doesn't care anything about the fans.

Actually...any owner willing to go into his own pocket to build a stadium is not ALL bad. At least from afar, the Fords seem to mostly stay out of the forefront.

Snyder. Even if it was the GM's idea, the Haynesworth signing, and the trade for RGKnee were disastrous moves, that shouldn't have been allowed. The fact that Griffin hurt his knee because of the bad turf just adds to the legend.

As a Redskins fan I certainly have been ticked at Snyder on many an occasion including some of the moves mentioned above (although I was admittedly pleased initially w/ RG3).

However - the hiring of Scot McCloughan last year IMO shows a definite change in attitude for Snyder. He has - at least for the time being - let go of the personnel reigns & turned his team over to true football people. This is their first true GM since Snyder bought the team.

He is certainly no Mother Theresa & may still do some not so great things in terms of making money, but football wise I believe that he has turned a new leaf & the Redskins very likely will benefit from this in the near future.
