Glad someone responded to the Sims being a 3rd round comp pick -- I was going to, but I know TP disappears from threads once someone points out the obvious to him. :)

If we ended up with a 5th, I would do cartwheels.

The Lions got a 4th for Gosder Cherilus, need I say more?

If we ended up with a 5th, I would do cartwheels. No one knows the specifics of the comp pick equation, other than what factors into it. I'm going to say -- Rob Sims, while he was a good pick up, other than last year's performance -- he won't be grading out in the top tier for comp picks, unless the NFL lets Lions fans decide what we should get.
This is exactly why people think you're such a douchebag. You're clearly pretty ignorant on the subject- your post spells that out pretty clearly- yet you're such a cocky prick that, even in your utter ignorance, you still felt the need to take a shot at me for no reason.

I get that you don't like me, that's fine, I really wouldn't expect you to like me given how often I call out your bullshit posts, but if you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, such as in the post I'm responding to here, then just shut the fuck up and let the other posters have a conversation. There's no rule that says you have to be suck a fucktard towards me all the time- that's just you being you, from what I can tell...

I don't think anyone has to sign him... I'm pretty sure the same formula applies to retired players. Not positive on that, though...
I do think someone has to sign him. The comp pick round is primarily based on the salary he signs for. Position doesn't seem to matter, just the amount per year he is getting.

And what is this "obvious" you're pointing out to me that will make me dissapear?

I'm seriously calling you out on this one- what is so "obvious" that I'm missing that you, or someone else, has pointed out?

Are you talking about your opinion on Sims? Is that what's "obvious" here? Because I know you think whatever opinions you happen to have might as well be gospel, but otherwise I must be missing something.

And let's give a solid, real answer this time, not more of your tired babble about everything I do, or have done, or anything else that's in the past. I want a concise answer, none of your chicken-shit double-talk.

And I'd like to officially log who "started" this one, since TrustMe is such a vadge and always whines about me starting every argument.

I was very clearly minding my own business and discussing Sims when he went out of his way to take an un-provoked shot at me.

So when you start whining about the personal attacks, or name-calling again (just like you do every time once your losing argument has ran it's course), look no father than that post you just had to make.

See- I'm learning your tricks and cutting them off ahead of time. I'd like you to stick to the actual argument for once and not resort to crying about me picking on you again. And no putting words in my mouth like you always do- I'm calling shenanigans on that one ahead of time so the other posters here can watch for it...

Yep- looks like I was mistaken there- Meow's post cleared that up a bit for me...

The problem with your response, IMO, is that while TP wasn't correct on his comp pick info, meow also won't know that we COULDNT get a 3rd round pick for him. He could get signed by a team for a big salary(ya never know), and that 3rd round pick is right in our laps.

I OBVIOUSLY see TP understood he was corrected by meow, and wasn't shitty about being wrong. But your comment was incorrect and another reason why TP remains to be shity towards you. But, if you couldn't care less, then that's that I suppose. Just don't get pissy when he comes back later at certain times and gets shitty with you for no reason. What's good for the goose.....

Just so ya'll know... each player signed cancels out one player lost. For an example...

Lions Lost: Cherilus (6.9m), Avril (6.5m), S. Hill (3.8m), Durant (1.2m)
Lions Signed: Quin (4.7m), Bush (4m), J. Jones (3.2m)

There was nothing unprovoked. You have no clue what you are talking about on this, yet claiming the Lions can get a 3rd round comp for a 32 year old, who is coming off his worst season. You have no clue what or if he will sign for and have no clue if the Lions are going to sign anyone -- but the Lions will get a 3rd because of playing time.

I'm not sure which comment made me laugh more -- that one or the comment how the Patriots had a string of bad drafts and how they cut or bench 1st round picks (and 2nd round picks) before their contract was up. I'm STILL waiting for you tell me the 1st round picks they have cut or benched for that. I even listed them for you. Of course, you ignored me when I pointed out your ridiculous comment.

Just pointing out how clueless you are -- that's all. Something you 'attempted' to do, when I was talking with Old Lion about the Lions and Pats. You only made yourself look foolish though, as you failed to even read the thread before opening your mouth.

Have I mentioned I'm still waiting on the 1st round picks that are gone from the Pats since 2009? I can list them again if you'd like. Tell me more about the string of drafts they whiffed on -- I can list those for you too. Of course, you will pretend like you never said anything like that and not respond.

Come on Micro -- Michigan has a better chance of winning the NCAA tourney this year than Sims does getting signed to a big salary.

Hell -- Garrett Reynolds was signed by another team and I've yet to hear Sims even being talked about, other than Sims, himself, saying he wants a 6th year in Detroit.

Im well aware we more than likely won't get a 3rd for Sims. The problem, which I stated earlier was your comment. TP was corrected on his stance of how comp picks work, by meow and to a smaller degree myself. He never once "disappeared" and even admitted he was wrong and that we'd probably get a 6 or 7 for him. But you were a douche to him for no reason. And as I also said earlier, that absolutely fine. But don't go whining later on down the road when he treats you the same and wanna cry about getting "attacked". That is all.

On an unrelated note, glad the comp pick discussion got cleared up.

He never once "disappeared"

I was referencing the Pats/Lions conversation he jumped in the middle of and made ridiculous comments, which I posted above -- he still hasn't answered my questions to his comments he made. Hench the disappearing comment.

I do agree -- it was a douche bag move by me to laugh at him. It is just enjoyable pointing out his stupidity and then listen to him talk about how smart he is.

Lol @ TrustMe.

I specifically say let's keep it to the topic at hand for once and not resort to digging up past arguments, and he immediately jumps to a previous argument.

You're as predictable as you are cowardly...

See- I said it, right there. And you could not answer what was so obvious, because you were talking out of your ass, so you panicked, as usual, and immediately switched to a different argument.

That's the beauty of all of this being written down- there's no "he said, she said" lies to be had, just you looking foolish when your shit-talking out-paces your ability to back it up. And everyone can see the (literal) writing on the wall...

And again, no reason for you to have been such a pole smoker towards me there.

Sims started damn-near every game for 5 straight years for us. That's the primary factor comp picks- playing time. Now I was wrong, and admitted as much (completely foreign concept to you, I know), about him needing to sign with another team, so there's that. However your reasoning of "he sucks" isn't a valid factor in the NFL's formula. This will be hard for you to accept, because as your screen name implies you think you're always right on absolutely anything, but the NFL doesn't factor in what jaded know-it-all fans think about a player. They look purely at the numbers.

Yes- I was wrong on them needing to sign with another club and that also playing a large role in the equation, but my part in the discussion was actually based on how the comp. pick formula works. Yours was based on ignorance, as evidenced by all of your dismissive statements about him not being good, and me being an idiot. You clearly didn't know much of anything about the topic, so you resorted to one of your typical juvenile attacks. It would be one thing if you were this much of a dick all the time and at least knew what you were talking about (like Dr. Eviler, for instance) but you're a bonafide jack-ass/dumb-ass hybrid... you're always talking out of your ass, and you're full of shit...
