After this game that's what is called at the end of regulation. Some things never change with NHL refs.

How often does that happen, and never gets called?

99% of the time doesn't get called. I bet if Sill didn't touch the puck nothing would have happened.

That was inside Greiss's jersey. How the ref didn't lose sight of it is beyond me.

Not surprised after that game that the puck would magically be seen the whole time.

There is no angle from which that puck was visible for a solid two seconds. Refs aren't supposed to assume the puck is free if they can't see it.

I would hate that as a goalie. If the puck is stuck in my equipment, it's frozen. There's not much you can do, and you shouldn't be subject to potentially being whacked at in that situation. He didn't have control of it, but it wasn't out either.

Unless the ref had x-ray vision, it would have been impossible for him to see that puck. He has to blow the play dead.

Well, the Flyers injured our best defenseman, tried to injure at least one more, and got the win out of it.

But the Pens' defense really stepped up tonight, I thought. Martin, Ehrhoff, and Scuderi were all brilliant. But Harrington was bad tonight, and already down Letang, I think they wore out at the end.

I really didn't like calling Sill for a cross-check after letting Downie and Perron get abused in front of the net most of the game. If Emery hadn't thrown a punch at him, Perron wouldn't have drawn us a powerplay despite taking about 10 cross-checks harder than the one Sill got called for. Call it by the book or don't call it, but there has to be consistency.

Agree with everything here.

End of the day, it is still a second rate league. There isn't a legit pro sport in the world outside of professional fighting that guys can get paid for and get away with the things Rinaldo, Cooke, Carcillo and Marchand all did the past couple weeks.

It's sad and it's still a garage league. I wonder how Lemieux is feeling after watching that debacle?

I really don't see how you can say you don't like Ehrhoff after the game he played tonight. He was physical, good with his stick, and was probably our most effective defenseman in the offensive zone. He played a really good game.

Well at least there is a game tomorrow move on quick.

That scumbag organization, their jerkoff fans, and the sycophant Philly media can revel in an empty regular season win, while missing the playoffs.

Scuds outplayed Erhoff by a mile

Scuderi had the best game I've ever seen him play, but that he was better than Ehrhoff last night (so was Martin, in a similarly superhuman effort) does not preclude Ehrhoff from having been outstanding in his own right, and he was outstanding.

Really the defense as a whole was really good, but Scuds had the best night.

Although the coaching left a lot to be desired, having Adams and Sill out at the end of regulation was beyond stupid. Add to that Harrington only played 13 mins, considering the Pens only had 5 d, that's not smart in a meaningless regular season game.

As for the pp, this is on the players, this is the third straight coaching staff and there is no way they are taught to stand there and pass it around the edges.
