I don't understand Texas/Big 12.

I've read recently how wealthy and strong the Big 12 is. Now this rumor, which I followed the story stream and it seems pretty weak to be honest.

Still, Texas did almost join the PAC, and now this.


Does Texas want the Big 12 to collapse?

I guess I'm just not understanding the rumors credible or not, popping up every year.

I think it is just the fact that Texas and ND are the biggest names not to be wed to strong conferences, so anytime some crack pot gets a theory on expansion Texas or ND are likely to be mentioned. You dont get a lot of traffic saying Houston is moving conferences

I could see it as most litigation is drawing down and a playoff system will allow the power conferences to break away from the NCAA all together.
