I've come around a bit to believing that this year's Bama team just isn't as good as last year's team - they lost a lot of good folks.

Also believe they came out uncharacteristically flat in a few games this season - MSU and Auburn are two good examples.

Had Bama made it all the way, really think FSU would have taken it to them - as they'll take it to any other team they face in the NC game.

Yes i do comment in them, but they are only passing comments, you felt the need to try and bolster what your team has done by pointing out losses by a team you have built up in your mind as the bar that has been set.

I kind of agree. Auburn and it's running game is a very tough team to plan for. Plus, Bama did not play well. You could tell they did not execute well at all, and yet, without a holding call with less then 3 minutes to go they have a first down on Auburn's 5 yard line leading by 7. But they get moved back, low kick blocked, and the rest is history.

FSU has not played anyone except an overrated Clemson team. You really don't think Alabama playing to it;s potential could beat FSU?

I think potentially they were better then last year but I agree with some of your comments. If they can find a QB next year, look out! Talent everywhere! Also, find another DB then Cyrus Jones (#5). We have to have players better them him!

... unless FSU came into the game as flat as Bama did against Auburn, and Bama played mistake-free ball.

I would say that golf is probably the most difficult of the sports from a mental aspect. There is no instinct that people can fall back on and you have minutes in between shots and if you are having a bad round it just keeps getting worse as you replay shots in your head. I get plenty of crap from work because I played ultimate frisbee and they call it a hippy sport, but I played at the top level in college and it is highly athletic sport. The people who rip on whether something is or is not a sport are probably the same people who spend most of their lives sitting on the couch doing nothing.

Yeah, thats like the people who dont call NASCAR a sport. I defy any one of them to sit in that seat for several hours on the edge of out of control, doing over 150 plus miles an hour in a crowd of cars, with the engine heating the driver compartment to over 200 degrees and say its not a sport. Those guys have to be conditioned for that type of physical and mental torture, and to do it on a weekly basis is grueling for almost 36 races per year. I know i took one of the sessions you can buy as an experience package and did 165 miles an hour around the track in Concord, NC and after a few laps, i was ready to get out. And i didnt have to do that in a pack of cars, it was my car behind the pace car.

The choking part isn't referring to the teams themselves. Its the way they are lost. They have been lost in a fashion that could be considered choking.

And losing in a choking fashion isn't necessarily a bad thing. It certainly beats getting blown out.

We will have to agree to disagree on what the word "choke" means. When you end up winning NCs in 3 years you claim they choked, you and I clearly use it differently.
