Off the top of my head these are guys that would get the crowd most riled up if they raised the 12th man flag

- Gary Payton
- Walter Jones
- Ken Griffey Jr
- Mack Strong
- Tupac

Im not knocking San Fran or GB but they did allow what was it 28 points at home,i do not see 28 points at CLink.

Man eff that...I WILL knock them for giving up 28 pts. Their defense has been less than perfect so far and it showed in the latter end of last year as well.

The past 4 games they've given up 28, 34, 24, and 31.

I'm not saying that San Fran isn't a great team...they are...maybe one of if not the best in the nfc...but everyone is talking up their offense and really overlooking their defense and the amount of pts they've given up lately

Kap had a spectacular game and Boldin arguably had an even better game. But let's see them do that against the best secondary in the NFL in the loudest stadium in the NFL.

Seahawks win 27-23

Don't forget that 42 to Seattle and 34 to New England before the 13 point effort against the offensively challenged Cardinals. So, that's 206 points in their last 7 games (29.4 ppg).

Now, in their defense, they did play mostly playoff teams, highly potent offenses and won all but 2 of those games.

And they did not have Justin Smith for many of those games. I do like that they only sacked Rogers twice in San Fran. I think the Pack protected with TEs more, but if we can do the same thing, the RW has a great shot at exposing their number 2 and 3 CBs.

If i'm a Seattle fan i'm not feeling too good about this game considering the hawks only scored 12 points against a weak Carolina defense. 49ers roll 35-10 sorry guys

Weak Carolina defense? And where did you come up with that?

Always amazing to see fans pull that stuff up and believe it. You can't site how any team does against another and use it as a basis to predict an entirely different game. You simply can't. There is a big difference between playing a road game thousands of miles from home at what feels like 10am to your bodies in a much hotter/humid climate than you are used to and playing a quality opponent at home. If you cannot see that without it being pointed out I'm afraid there is no point in trying to carry on a conversation with you.

I'll just leave you with this: Do you think Seattle will play any differently at all coming home in front of their crowd on a nationally televised game of the night than they did on the road?

I'm not saying they can't win i'm just saying they are playing against a better defense and a better offense than they did last week and they barely squeaked out a win. So if i was a Hawks fan i'd be nervous. I understand you having confidence in your team and i can rep sect that because i thought the same way before the Broncos destroyed my Ravens. It's just my opinion if you disagree that's fine, but that's my reasoning. I'm not getting into a pissing match here, nor do i want to, i'm taking the 49ers to win, and i'll leave it at that.

Interesting, Baltimore was a top 12 defense last year yet got shredded. Maybe you have a chance to squeak one out against the Browns

top 12?????.......the Ravens were 17th in yard per game and 20th in points per game last year.

You know the Seahawks were 8-0 at home last year right? Don't wager your life savings.

Uh, tied for 12th in pts per game, you know, the same stat you used to show Carolina was a weak team? Oh yah, Carolina was 10th to 15th in the individual yards and total yards categories, but you wouldn't want to give them any credit right?

So the Ravens fan has to tell us we should be scared because the 9ers have a better O and D than Carolina? Basing how we'll play SF at home on a road game in Carolina. Sounds very smart.

I mean it was so long ago that we faced the San Francisco 49ers at the Clink. How did that turn out? Was it 35-10 SF? I can't remember. mcro rave, can you look that up for us real quick? Thanks guy.

First of all I never said I was confident and in fact gave reasons already in this thread to worry. Second, I don't have any problems with people believing SF will win this game, but when you give the final scores of both games as the only argument I'm going to roll my eyes every time. They were different games and you cannot use the final scores of both alone to argue your views. It simply don't work and never has.

You can look at just the final score for the Seahawks game, but that doesn't tell you how well they were moving the ball all game despite the lack of both pass and run blocking. Wilson ended up over 300y in passing and no INT's. If it wasn't for a fumble near their goal they would have had another score. You also have to ignore the defense of Seattle keeping them to only one score as a reason to have faith. If you can keep a NFL team to one score at their house, how are you going to be at home where the crowd always helps the defense? Doesn't matter that the panthers are a worse team offensively than SF.

I'm not worried about the Seahawks offense. They may not have fired on all cylinders for that first game, but the passing game was still good and the running game will be fixed by this week. My only concern is the defensive line and LB play. They will be far more exposed vs SF even with the crowd behind them than they were on the road vs Carolina. With the 3 missing players I already spoke of earlier in the thread the play of the #2's in those spots will be critical for a win.

I won't forecast a win either way. As I said I have no problems with others picking SF. Just if you believe they will win bring something better than 'based on last weeks games' as your only point. That is always weak and nonproductive.

I understand having an eyebrow wager...but does the loser really have to have the eyebrow stuck to the bottom of his chin?

If Carolina's defense is weak, what does that make yours? Your defense planning on giving up less then 7 TD passes this week?

I think I'd wait to call that defense weak. Our offensive line played like crap but they were real quick around the edge. And the 2nd half was a completely different story than the first. Wilson made the adjustments that he always seems to be able to do when he's playing poorly and was rock solid in the 2nd half. They only got 1 td but he was moving the ball and was able to run out the clock on a drive that started with around 4:00 left. I'll take that over a TD any day.
