This is what he gets. He let his "camp" get him shipped out of the country. :dhd: I don't feel sorry for him. He should've kept his trap closed & do what he signed up to do. Then in FA he could've had his choice of where he wanted to go.

The Warriors replaced McGee with Boogie.

Spin it however you want, I believe this is more the Warriors allowing McGee to walk then McGee choosing to go to LA over Golden State.
Yes, they were clearly looking to move on from JaVale. I'm not sure why since Kerr seemed to get very good production out of him. But it was said they were looking to keep Looney & groom either Bell and/or the rookie Jones for that 5 position.

He gets a much better chance at returning to the finals and still has his free agency option to use as he wishes; what exactly didn't he get? To be a Laker immediately? He can have that in time.

Not to mention he got an extra $3M.

Paid by the Spurs so that's income tax free.

Exactly. So what is he upset about? He got part of what he wanted: no longer in SA. He also expected them to fulfill his WANT of being a Laker in the process? Clearly that organization is not interested in bending over & grabbing their ankles for the likes of Kawhi.

According to the Lakers Nation, the Spurs wanted a 20 points per game or more scorer. They made a good trade and Toronto will talk Leonard into staying easily if they have a good season

Do we know that we've heard ANYTHING in this whole process that came directly from Kawhi?

Will be interesting to see how it turns out. On the surface though I don't like trading Derozan for a guy who probably only stays for a season.

Yes, it was said word from his "camp" informed the league that he has no interest in playing in Toronto.

The funny thing is people are automatically penciling Tor into the Finals since this trade. That's kind of ridiculous to me consider a few things:

A. We haven't seen Kawhi play a single game since Oct 2017 so we don't know where he is health wise
B. Boston is on target to have both Kyrie & Hayward back
C. The Sixers are no easy win

I'm not saying Toronto goes to the finals though. I agree with you. I'm just saying that if Toronto has a good season and Leonard does too, then I don't expect him to join the Lakers. When players say they want to go somewhere, that's just then trying to make a point. I do think the Lakers will have enough free agents to look at though in 2019

According to Woj, Leonard is starting to warm to the idea of playing with Toronto. Staying is another thing, but I guess it's a step.

I'm so happy about this though, because now when I talk about him, I can say this at the end:

Not our problem anymore. :dhd:

Im sure its been mentioned, but Toronto is a great city, and has some great fans, and will the high likelihood they could make a strong run in the East, this was a great risk for the Raptors

Popovich got back a 20 + scorer as he was looking for - He will step on DeRozen's neck and teach him the true meaning of defense - so The Spurs have done good and for what it is worth - there was no guarantee that Leonard can play like he used to. Just saying

I think McGee is more excited about playing with the Lakers then I am - but I am hoping that some one saw more in him then I do -

Ok I dont know if anyone has said this already, I didn't feel like reading 29 pages to find out, but the Raptors will trade Kwahi before the season is over. Kuzman, Ingram and pope will be Raptors at the trade deadline.

I very much doubt that. If the Raptors are going to wait till just before the deadline, the best they can ask for will be Josh Hart and picks.

If he stays in Toronto for the entire year - then everything he earns while living in Toronto - becomes tax free for IRS purposes, but there is a restriction - He can only be in the United States something like 30 days of the entire year - returning to play 42 games while in the United States may disqualify his income as tax free. In the mean time Toronto is a good team -

I was thinking that Toronto had in mind to trade Leonard in February - but Magic Johnson declined to trade Ingram, Kuzma and Hart this month - I really don't see that happening in February. I think that would make Toronto look desperate and Ingram, Kuzma and possibly Lonzo Ball all have the potential to become 20 ppg scorers - If they are balling really good - Lakers are not giving anything up
