Remember TV before 'cable'? 3 Major networks, ABC, CBS and NBC. They competed year in and out for viewers.
News was real and Cronkiteand Huntley and Brinkley was a nightly who's best. It all changed in 1982 when cable TV came on the scene and went 24 hours a day in 1983..........

I actually got the 'Triple Play". Premium TV with 270 Channels (Of which about 240 are totally useless), Internet (Which comes with my own Wi-Fi and Server) and a land line phone (which I unplugged after one week of collection agencies calling for the two previous owners of the telephone number. It costs me $199 a monthnfor everything. When I had DirecTV it cost me $240 a month. The internet cost me $88. Both were going up and to get them for $199 saved me $129 a month immediately. DTV was going up $15 and the internet was going up $12. So now I'm saving $156 a month.

I gave my Wi-Fi password to 3 neighbors and they each pay me $20 a month so they can use their laptops. I monitor the wi-fi and they agreed not to give anyone the password. They a;ll have been great and haven't given it to anyone else. I can see who's on it and can change the password as often as I want.

You can set your wifi router to only accept certain "MAC Addresses" and that would keep anyone unknown to you out, but that's a little bit of a pain when you need to add new ones. Overall you are pretty smart to coordinate that and get the subsidy.

Adam Schecter from ESPN was live on WEEI this morning. He said he spoke to his reliable source in Patriots upper management (Johnathan Kraft??) and was told that Rob Gronkowski will NOT be traded in 2018. Repeat, will NOT be traded.

All NFL trades must be approved at the league office level by each team owner. GMs, coaches can do the dirty work but trades do not become official until the league gets the blessing from any owner involved. This is why it takes hours, sometimes a day or two before the league officially announces a trade on the NFL sites. This why sometimes it appears that a trade has been made, there's a delay and then the trade doesn't happen, because one or both owners don't approve it.

I found that all very interesting.............

So the Kraft's signed off on getting only a second round pick for Jimmy G. That debunks those who felt BB did the Kraft's dirty.

Yes but the story goes that they only signed off on it because Bill assured them that was the best deal they could get and then were allegedly upset later when they allegedly found out other teams would allegedly have offered more. Depending how far down the bunny hole of conspiracy theories you're willing to go and/or what angle you have your tinfoil hat crushed at. YMMV

Manish Megta of the NU Daily News was just on NBCSB Early Edition and he says that Patriots and NY Giants are talking. What are they talking about?? According to Mehta, it could be about what it will cost the Patriots to move from #23 to #2 in the up coming NFL Draft.

He says that according to the draft value chart, the #23 and #31 do not equal the value of #2 so the Pats would have to give up something more in future draft pick, current draft picks or players.

Then the shocker..............with the #2 pick, the Patriots would draft Baker Mayfield QB Oklahoma..

Don't ya just love the fact that a New York reporter would have that kind of inside information especially about the NE Patriots. Talk about stirring the pot......

He is nothing like Manziel. Manziel was all about himself. He wanted to party much more than play football. Baker is the exact opposite of that. He is football all the time. Yes he has that one bad incident with the police but everything since then off the field has been nothing but glowing.

Johnny Manziel himself has said he didn't even know how to read a defense when he came out of college. I've talked to people around the NFL that said Baker Mayfield has been one of the best QB's they have ever seen on the whiteboard of breaking down defenses and where to go with the football on any given play. These are people that were actually in the meeting rooms at the Combine so I kind of trust them a bit more than you when it comes to the skillset and ability of a player compared to another washed out guy like Manziel.

I've talked to people around the NFL that said Baker Mayfield has been one of the best QB's they have ever seen on the whiteboard of breaking down defenses and where to go with the football on any given play. These are people that were actually in the meeting rooms at the Combine so I kind of trust them a bit more than you when it comes to the skillset and ability of a player compared to another washed out guy like Manziel.

CD works for 24/7 a subsidiary of CBS Sports. I would guess that he sees and talks to many more sports people than most of us do.
