Every team in the NFL is young and talented, though. It's the NFL. It's the best of the best in the world. Look at the Browns:
Josh Gordon
Duke Johnson
Myles Garrett
Joe Thomas
Joel Bitonio
Kevin Zeitler
Emmanuel Ogbah
Danny Shelton
Christian Kirksey
Jamie Collins

You could go through basically every NFL team and list the talent, but it takes a coach to put it together. Nobody could in SF until Harbaugh got there and instantly they were in the playoffs. He did a hell of a job, you can't deny that.

Guys I mentioned were players, not just high draft picks. Most importantly they drafted 3-4 8 year starters on the OL, that was the significant upgrade

Yet they had a losing record for nearly a decade before Harbaugh got there. Then all of the sudden, they're in the playoffs and then the Super Bowl. But yeah, of course Harbaugh had nothing at all to do with it.

:L

Here's a snapshot of their record over 10 years time. Notice how in 2011, they just happen to become an elite team out of nowhere? Oh wait, that's when Harbaugh took over.

@Codaxx addressed this in more detail than I could, I suck at remembering names.

However, I never said Harbaugh had nothing to do with it. I said he walked into a team that was already built, while you act like he came in and was a miracle worker.

Even then, it's only a topic because you refuse to treat Shaw with the same standards.

Truth is most successful coaching careers start out with a good bit of luck. Ask Belichek about that, he can tell you bith sides of that story. You inherit some natural fits to your system or hit on a generational player and before you known it the ball is rolling. That is why I also say great coaches exceed or consistently have their programs near their ceiling for an extended period of time. Lots of coaches have had 2-3 year runs based on striking it big on a single class (NFL can be longer)

HARBAUGH: took a 1-11 team to a 12-1 team in 4 years; then took a 6-10 team to 13-3 in 1 year
SHAW: took a 12-1 team to an 11-2 team; then took that same team to...12-2?

I can see where Harbaugh did amazing things at two locations.

Still don't see where Shaw did anything amazing anywhere.

Just is what it is.

It's amazing you're not comparing Harbaugh to Saban because he's so amazing. lol
I have to keep checking to see if Harbaugh really only won eight games last season. According to you he should have won the Super Bowl with the Michigan squad by year three. I mean if Shaw can get Stanford to #3 in the country by his fourth year then Harbaugh must have won like 12 games every season by now in Ann Arbor.

Get them there? As if they weren't already there when he took them over?

HARBAUGH: took a 1-11 team to a 12-1 team in 4 years;

With Shaw as his OC.

then took a 6-10 team to 13-3 in 1 year

That team started the season 0-5 and got better as the year went on.

SHAW: took a 12-1 team to an 11-2 team; then took that same team to...12-2?

Shaw has won multiple Conference Championships. Something Harbaugh has yet to accomplish at Stanford or Michigan.

Just is what it is.

Because you are an ignorant hypocrite and you attribute everything Shaw did to Harbaugh. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised when Michigan fans care about shit other than championships.

So? Does that mean every single HC ever is now only as good as his OC?

That team started the season 0-5 and got better as the year went on.
This doesn't prove any point.

Cool. Shaw won a multiple conference titles with Harbaugh's team. Congrats to him for not fucking things up too bad that were handed over to him.

Aww. Gonna keep trying to do that whole "tell me I'm a michigan fan" thing still? How cute. Keep it up, kiddo! I'm sure you'll get me one of these days!

Shaw got them there four years after Harbaugh left. That's not Harbaughs team anymore.
Four years after Saban left Michigan State- 8-5
Four years after Meyer left Florida - 7-5

Some how Jimmys cologne lingered so long it helped Shaw get Stanford to #3 in the country. But no such luck for Michigan State and Florida with Saban and Urban. I guess they didn't build much while they were there and simply just not as good coaches as Jimmy Jam . lol

Did you not consider the fact that both MSU and Florida made absolutely horrendous coaching choices after those two left? Bobby Williams at MSU has never been a head coach again, and even wound up down in the high school ranks for a year. Will Muschamp was just OK, but I don't see anyone acting like he's a better coach than Shaw, myself included. I don't know why you're bringing up two coaches that I never said belong near the top 10 list, as they don't really have anything to do with this discussion.

It just shows you that you have to be a good coach to keep things going in the right direction and seriously, after four years it's that coaches team not the previous one no matter who that other coach was. It's not like Shaw is anywhere close to Harbaugh in personality or style to where you can say he's just doing things just like Harbaugh did.

Harbaugh has been gone 7 years dipshit.

7 years.

And still you give credit to Harbaugh for what Stanford does.

You mean other than giving all the credit to the previous coach? Other than say he's regressing? Other than after doing it for seven seasons at Stanford you put him under a first year coach who hasn't even had a practice with players he recruited. Yeah, you think the world of him. LOL

Bo Schembechler is responsible for all the success Harbaugh has had.
