LOL it's just that simple huh? So coaching in the NFL essentially means absolutely nothing in your opinion. Wow that is some extreme idiocy. And you call yourself a football fan.

A Brown's fan would know that high draft picks does not mean success

It's funny how much of a hypocrite you are. You are the one who claims what Shaw did doesn't matter because it was Harbaugh's recruits.

And yet, when pointed out how the NFL works and that it was with a team someone else built with decent talent due to years of not being a good team and getting high draft picks - suddenly you go to the other extreme.

Harbaugh didn't take over the Browns, that would have actually been impressive.

Instead, he took over the 49'rs and got players like Frank Gore and like 8 pro bowlers.

I didn't say it doesn't matter, dumbass. I said I'm not overly impressed by it. I've said several times that I don't believe he's a bad coach.

And who pointed out how the NFL works? It definitely wasn't you. Here's the big difference, Cletus: Harbaugh left Stanford as a 12-1, top 5 team in the nation with proven talent and a solid foundation that had improved in record every year under Harbaugh. San Francisco, meanwhile, was a disorganized junk team coming off of a 6-10 season that hadn't shown improvement in years.

Yet they had a losing record for nearly a decade before Harbaugh got there. Then all of the sudden, they're in the playoffs and then the Super Bowl. But yeah, of course Harbaugh had nothing at all to do with it.

:L

Here's a snapshot of their record over 10 years time. Notice how in 2011, they just happen to become an elite team out of nowhere? Oh wait, that's when Harbaugh took over.

I think he is talking about this
Frank Gore
Crabtree 2nd year
Vernon Davis
Joe Staley
Iupati (rookie in 2010)
Davis OT (rookie in 2010)

Justin Smith
Patrick Willis
Bowman (rookie)
Ahmad Brooks
Tarrell Brown

They had a very young and talented team. The defense was already good. They just rebuilt OL as Harbaugh took over. 2 rookie starters the year prior to him taking over and Staley just coming into his own as a 3rd year player

Every team in the NFL is young and talented, though. It's the NFL. It's the best of the best in the world. Look at the Browns:
Josh Gordon
Duke Johnson
Myles Garrett
Joe Thomas
Joel Bitonio
Kevin Zeitler
Emmanuel Ogbah
Danny Shelton
Christian Kirksey
Jamie Collins

You could go through basically every NFL team and list the talent, but it takes a coach to put it together. Nobody could in SF until Harbaugh got there and instantly they were in the playoffs. He did a hell of a job, you can't deny that.

This just simply isn't true. They had offensive issues, but were defensively sound and a very disciplined team.

Uh huh. I see you just decided to ignore the yearly analysis piece I posted. Weird how such a defensively sound, very disciplined team magically more than doubled their win total from one year to the next. What was the thing that changed? Hmm...

The offense changed. Singletary was a defensive minded coach and couldn't produce offensively. Harbaugh was able to come in and get the offense going and they found success - with a team that was already built.

The 49'rs were actually heading in the right direction under Singletary at first, until they started his final season 0-5. They had their first non-losing season in like 8 years or something the year before.

Like it or not, Harbaugh was successful because of a team someone else built. The very thing you use to discount Shaw.

Let me get this right. According to you Harbaugh flipped the 49ers in a year. It was all him. IN the same league Belichick couldn't do shit with the Browns. But at Michigan where he picks roughly 20 new players a year and three seasons later it's still a train wreck at Stanford he never won a conference title. This guy you're defending.

great logic
