Put Kaep on Denver and they'd be running away with the AFC West, especially with KC struggling lately.

I say this as a proud Raiders fan.

I think so.....he didn't want to restructure his contract.
Yes, that's what I remember.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say his present and future would have been a lot different had he just taken the pay cut....lol

Totally understand your point.

I think what is being done to him sucks.

But, you reap what you sow.

While still with the Niners, Didn't he have a chance to go to Denver but didn't want to take the paycut?

I believe so, which is also his right and his choice.

I don't necessarily agree with his stance, but I respect the courage he displayed in making it.

That said, if he was anthem kneeling the year after his super bowl appearance, he would still have a job. If Russell Wilson or Cam Newton started the anthem kneeling deal, they would too. You can't be controversial if you are a marginal player like Kaep. He is learning that the hard way.

I said nobody has made a bigger jackass outta himself lately, there's a difference. So what I said is actually a true statement. And you're fooling yourself if you think it was LeBron by himself & not the Heat organization that put that little party together.
Like I said, IMO there aren't levels to making an arse out of ones self. And since when were we talking about organizations? It was my understanding we were talking about individuals - so forgive me for not including the Heat organization.

But, I'm sure if you look you will see LBJ has already made an arse of himself this season - as recently as just last week.

Business in the real world -- if I piss off 1/2 of my clients -- then I would find it difficult (actually, impossible) to have a job.

The NFL's clients are fans & advertisers.

Colin K's actions are completely his decision -- but he has to deal with the ramifications.

Tebow wasn't good. That's why he didn't have a job.

Tebow has a playoff win and a winning record as a starter. He is good enough to be a backup in the NFL. He's notr good enough to be a backup who is a distraction.

Kap at least has a track record of success with the numbers to back them up. He's more one-dimentional that most quarterbacks, but also has many more facets to his gamel than Tebow. So it's not a fair comparison in my opinion.

Tebow has success as well. He also has many of the same "many more facets" as Kaepernick. Tebow can beat you with his legs, just like Kaepernick. What he can't do is beat you with his arm (unless there's less than 5 minutes left in the game. lol) It's a perfectly fair comparison. They are both out of the league for the same reason.

I could really go either way on the whole Kap situation. I think that he deserves a job on talent, but at this point he's a major distraction.

Which is pretty much my point. I'd also add that there are a limited number of teams that Kaepernick could play for. He will only work in a certain style of offense and not many teams use that style. That also limits him.

But there has been a history of players who have done far worse in life than kneel in protest during the national anthem that have been given more shots to play again.

True, but were they backup quarterbacks? Also, unlike Kaepernicks' protest, they weren't things that were going to be an ongoing issue every week of the season.

Based on that, I'd say Kap deserves at least one shot to be back in the league.

I disagree. I'm not saying he should be kept out forever and like you, I don't really care if he plays again or not. But as long as he is a distraction and limited in the offenses he can play in, I doubt will see him back any time soon.

Totally understand that from a business stand point. Just from a morality stand point, it seems weird to take a stand on this issue being the one that makes a player unemployable.

Business and morality have very little to do with one another. Also, the stand is being taken by Kaepernick, it's made him a distraction whom, as Gman points out, isn't worth the cost it would take to employ him.

If Kaep were a starting caliber QB, he would have a job despite the controversy. He isn't, so he doesn't. It is as simple as that.

Fact. It's like Crash Davis told Nuke Lalouche...

"Your shower shoes have fungus on them. You'll never make it to the bigs with fungus on your shower shoes. Think classy and you'll be classy. If you win 20 in the show, you can let the fungus grow back on your shower shoes and the press will think you're colorful. Until you win 20 in the show however, it means you're a slob."

Especially when guys like Drew Stanton (sucks major ass), Blaine Gabbert, Nathan Peterman (LOL), Charlie Whutehurst, among others all have jobs as backup QB's.

Are any of those guys distractions?

Okay so he's not NFL starting material. What about being a back up? You mean to tell me that some of shit back up's in the league right now deserve to be there over him?

Even worse as a backup. The backups job is to stand on the sidelines in a baseball cap, hold the clipboard, maybe help signal plays in and, most important of all, Keep his fucking mouth shut.

When the press is more interested in what the backup is doing and saying than the starter, the backup isn't going to be around long.
