I agree. He doubled catched it plus he has possession of it going to the ground. Should of had both hands or arms on the ball.

He didn't double catch shit. The ball was secure from the moment it hit his hands and he pulled it to his body. It was only after he hit the ground did he lose control of the ball.

You guys talkin this pussy or wussy shit are completely off-base. What happened to the ball after Doctson hit the ground could've happened to any WR in the NFL regardless if he has one or two hands on the ball.

You need to watch the play again. The minute he secured the catch he should of pulled it into his body with TWO hands. he didn't do that. He turned his body. He left it in one hand EXPOSED so of course the ground caused the incompletion. Plus he left his free hand to brace the fall. Why? He was in the endzone

WTF do you mean why? Why do you think? I'll tell you what.

You and Shark get together and replicate the play for us. And each one of you can show us how Doctson should've caught the ball.

Word of advice. Be good n loaded when you do this and maybe have a paramedic vehicle close by. Cuz when you fall on that shoulder w/o trying to brace yourself for it. You're as liable to separate the shoulder from its socket as you are anything else.

If he highpoints the ball you bring it into your chest and you fall backwards on your back securing the ball with BOTH arms and hands. You don't take you hand away to brace yourself. Once the catch was made you have to secure the ball.

Breed... two points here

1. He had both hands on he ball and took one hand off to try and brace himself for the landing.

2. He still injured the shoulder despite giving up the catch to try and brace himself for the landing.

Bonus nugget, any racing school will tell you, ball up and take it on the leather.. or in this case on the pads.

But I do hope MK Deu figures it out, can get and stay healthy and realizes the quickest way to get hurt is to play to not get hurt.

I think you need to watch the play again. He catches the ball with two hands. He is already spinning to catch the ball. He didn't turn his body because his body was already spinning. An object in motion remains in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. Like Breed said, he put an arm out to protect himself. Personally, putting his arm out was also dangerous.

Actually more dangerous considering he was spinning. He is lucky he ONLY ended up hurting his shoulder any way. Trying to stop ones fall is the fastest route to a broken wrist and season over.

Even a blind Squirrel finds a nut occasionally. When Doctson can stay healthy and play ball, I might not consider him the second coming of MAlcolm Kelly. :thumb:

He did not catch it cleanly. He did have control on his way down. Its his fault for not putting the ball away. Where is Shark? this is football 101.

OK - we get it. Give it a rest already. He made a mistake - the game is over. The way you portray this you act as if Doctson was thinking about this the whole time when this happened in a matter of seconds & he doesn't have time to think about every move. You can't compare what you see while sitting on your ass watching a reply to what occurred for the actual player during the game.

This team is doing pretty well but you continue to only find the bad pts with this team - move on dude.

Cmon Shark you are better than this. You have stated many times your issue with posters who portray Cousins in a negative light, but you appear to be doing the same thing w/ several other players & appear to be portraying this team in a very negative light at this time.

Take a step back & look at this objectively. This team is doing pretty damn good rt now & IMO there is much more positive than negative. Sure they are not 4-0, but they don't currently have the talent for anyone to have believed that they should be at that pt currently. All of the teams that they have played thus far are legit playoff contenders (w/ perhaps surprisingly the Raiders being the least likely playoff team & the Redskins killed them).

You Kelly comparison is way off base & Doctson has already made several solid contributions including several in the Chiefs game. Give it time & see what he can do for the remainder of the year (if he continues to struggle then blast away).

I also believe that - again - you can't question a players thoughts or attitude - we have no idea what he was thinking on any play - that is complete speculation. Let's move on to the next game & hope for the best especially in terms of injuries. I think that we will continue to see good things. As Redskins fans we need to start to get out of the mindset of always being negative.

WHee have I portrayed the TEAM in a negative light?? Just because I think Doctson punked out on the catch, and in general always seems to have some phantom boo boo that keeps him from practicing and he reminds me more of Kelly than a solid contributor doesnt mean Im down on the TEAM. IM just not as excited about Doctson as many appear to be, and I think going into the season trusting him to be healthy is kind of wishful thinking.

Well - perhaps my bad, but I would not give up on Doctson & again I think that the Kelly comparison is off base. When did Kelly contribute in any way for the Redskins? Doctson already made the critical TD catch vs Raiders & made some key catches vs the Chiefs. Give him some time & again if he fails for the remainder of the season (or misses many games) then I am rt there with you.

Again.. I havent given up on him. I just have very little faith in him after his missing most of his rookie year, both off seaons and about 60% of practice time with Kelly's syndrome is all. Kelly had a habit of nagging injuries they could never pin down. One week he would make an amazing play, and the next he was horrid. thats what earned him the nick name 50/50, cause you never knew which MK would show up.

Malcolm Kelly

Refresh my memory about Kelly since he was so forgettable. If you look at his game log the only game where he really did anything was the last game of the 2009 season against the Chargers. The Redskins stunk that season & the Chargers were likely resting players as they prepared for the playoffs. That game was basically a garbage time, pickup game.

Beyond that game he never had more than a handful of catches or yds & never scored a TD. All this basically occurred in 2009 & he really has no stats in any other season. If you are referring to preseason then IMO those don't count. I guess I am missing the part where Kelly actually did anything in any real NFL game. Enlighten me.

Exactly my point. Kelly spent more time recovering than he did either practicing or playing. The big hype was, he is so talented, he is such an athlete that when he does get it.. man will he be awesome. I guess missing both off seasons, and the majority of practice time as well as 98% of his rookie season to an injury that was never really figured out has me not on the Doctson hype train.

OK but pt being that Docston has actually contributed to this team this season in meaningful games (unlike Kelly). He also has a unique skill set that could really help this team down the stretch. The challenge is now on him - we will see.

He caught it very cleanly. He put it away. He hit the ground and dropped it.

Football 101 is catching the ball. Football 101 is not flying through the air, while spinning, catching the ball with a guy landing on you. I seriously don't believe you ever played football.
