Stats & Info: Whiteside remains somewhat of an enigma. Though he once again finished in the top five of voting for Defensive Player of the Year, the Heat were still better defensively with him off the floor. On/off court splits can be noisy, but this is now three straight seasons in which Miami's defense has posted a better defensive rating with it's anchor on the bench rather than on the floor-

- 2017-18 projected RPM: 1.88
I just thought it was funny that the metrics they cited say exactly what i have been saying.ESPN rankings are a joke. SI rankings seem more credible. Once I saw Melo in the 60's then I knew it was a joke. Whiteside was 34 in SI rankings. Seems more accurate

Whitesides blocks might be pretty- but his actual contributions are NOTHING CLOSE to elite- and it doesnt surprise me the metrics say the Heat D is better when he is riding the pine.
Well if you think Whiteside is still chasing blocks then you don't watch much basketball. Anyone who think he is chasing blocks is not very smart and doesn't watch Heat games.
