Melo would be taking a lesser role to win a chip, and he's LeBron's boy, he's one of the super friends.


LeBron/CP3/Melo/Wade are all great friends and have all wanted to play together.

Unless Melo gets bought out, he won't be a Laker. There's no point anyway; in your scenario with George and Lebron, where do Ingram and Melo fit? If Lebron is at the 4, is Melo on the bench? Just no reason to include him if Lebron is there.

Yeah, I don't know about the rumors. They haven't been reported by Woj and until that happens, they need to be taken with a grain of salt.

But there seem to be an awful lot of rumors for there to be nothing to them.

I'd sooner see it happen on the clippers than on the Lakers. If Melo were to join him on the Lakers he'd have to come off the bench for the vets minimum.

Knicks are giving Melo away for free.

They can have Randle, and both the last first rounders. Anything more and the Lakers should walk way laughing. The Pacers' window is closing in about 9 hours time.

That way the can at least have Clarkson coming off the bench and try a combination of Zubac/Lopez/Nance as the front two guys.

I would pull back Randle. If they want Clarkson, OK. Without those late 1sts, Lakers won't be able to add any prospects as front court depth.

When it comes to talent evaluation, there's no one better (look at Kawhi they robbed the Pacers). If they pull a top 10 pick for Aldridge.....man.

If they do, that consenting team needs to be drug-tested.

Personally, I'd rather wait and get George later (whether at the deadline or next summer). Use these assets to make an offer for Porzingis.

But why would Magic, or even lebron for that matter want a washed up Melo in LA. Especially if Paul George was in already. Would they risk Ingram for his roster spot?

Exactly. I'm sure Magic would Love to have Lebron on the Lakers. But not if it means having to take what's left of Melo and/or losing Ingram.

Jackson is a tremendous athlete and has arguably the best potential in the draft. However, he's also pretty raw, so he would be getting drafted mainly on his potential.

The problem with potential is that if the guy doesn't fulfill it, you're fucked. Lonzo seems to fit best with what the Lakers want to do offensively as well. Plus, Jackson is a small forward and the Lakers already have Ingram.

Having said the above, if the Lakers do end up taking Jackson, that would tell me that they have probably decided to go ahead and include Ingram in a trade for PG-13.

Well for the Cavs RIGHT NOW of course not, but if I was a team rebuilding then hell yes I would take Booker. He is on his way to being an elite scorer, without having great players around him.
