They can have Randle, and both the last first rounders. Anything more and the Lakers should walk way laughing. The Pacers' window is closing in about 9 hours time.

That way the can at least have Clarkson coming off the bench and try a combination of Zubac/Lopez/Nance as the front two guys.

Man we need not to be so desperate for PG. The Cavs talk has died down, so we should chill out

I agree with chilling out to a point. The problem with talks that have died down is that they can also start up again quickly. From what I've read that's actually believable at this point, is that those talks have died down because the Pacers don't want Love. That could change as they ponder the idea of going through an entire season of PG-13 being booed at home.

The Cavs talk dying down buys time and means the Lakers may not have to give up as much. If there are no other serious offers, they may be able to get him for their current offer.

Spurs.

Everyone is worried about the Cavs.

If the Spurs trade Aldidge, Greene and Pau and Manu take paycuts?

George and either Paul or Hill could go to San Antonio.

Would definitely be a pretty Spurs thing to do. Honestly, the Spurs scare the hell out of me when it comes to this kind of thing.

......uh, listen....

I know you like George.

But, go get the Unicorn now and sign Paul in the Summer.

@Kold just totally made me do an about face...

I'd give the Knicks the #2 for the Unicorn (as long as the Lakers gave him a less ghey nickname).

Phil can't do shit to Melo. Melo holds all of the cards. Only way he leaves NY is when he's ready to leave.

At this point, Melo must realize that he's never going to win a title and probably isn't making the playoffs ever again. So, all he has left is trolling Phil by staying and eating up all of that cap space. :pound:

When it comes to talent evaluation, there's no one better (look at Kawhi they robbed the Pacers). If they pull a top 10 pick for Aldridge.....man.

The closer we get to the draft, the better I think the chances are of the Cavs getting PG.

I think before it is all said and done the Cavs are working up a big trade despite the rumors (bullshit).

It's just too much imo.

Getting PG would be amazing but it would weaken the front court AND the bench.

With Lou gone, Swaggy gone, and potentially Clarkson gone, what's left of the second unit? I like Nance, Zubac and Black but they won't get it done.

Teams can always find veteran bench players that will sign on for less/vet minimums, etc. Especially if that team looks like it has a chance to be pretty good. You have to get the star players to have a chance, then you fill in around them.

I'm not sure what the deal is on their contracts and I'm too lazy to look. But I thought both Brewer and Ennis played pretty well last year (especially Brewer) when they came to the Lakers. Maybe we re-sign them if their contracts are up?

I disagree.

Cleveland Cavaliers Team Payroll | Basketball-Reference.com

Paul George

George has a $19.5 cap hit, Love's at $22 mil. The NBA just announced the cap is at $99 mil. The Cavs for the 18-19 season are going to be at $126 mil, with Lebron's player option salary being calculated in. Should Lebron decline his player option and choose to resign with the Cavs, he still has that cap hold on there.

If they trade for George and only give up Love, George still will have that cap hold until he signs with another team. But then, if he does leave, that leaves the Cavs still a bit over $100 mil and just over the luxury tax. The Cavs wouldn't be significant players in free agency. You didn't think those contracts to Shumpert, TT and JR weren't going to matter, did you?

Well if they get PG they will need to commit long-term, which isnt likely but with Lebron on the team anything is possible. There is no other player he would rather play with.

By all accounts, PG is not going to commit to Cleveland long-term, without assurances that Lebron's going to be on the team long term. Sounds like he's dead set on heading out West.

How about a trade that sends both Paul George and Thad Young to Cleveland? Could be Love and Shumpert headed back to Indiana. Young isn't great -- but he could theoretically match up decently against Golden State.

The Cavs are in need of a flexible PF type of player that is a very good rebounder

Yes but in cleveland he had the chance to play with the league's best player.

Unless the cavs, spurs or warriors make a drastic move for him, he's coming to LA

I don't see any way that the Warriors can get him. If the cavs do, then we're potentially looking at the Kevin Love scenario again.

If the Spurs can get him, we're fucked.

Knicks reportedly asking for a top 4 pick (to get Josh Jackson) and a starter. #2 and Randle.

Did the D'Angelo Russell trade get finalized?
It'll get finalized as soon as the physicals are done I'm sure.

If he's torn, then he thinks there are good reasons to leave.
He's been stuck in Utah.
No Florida state tax negates most of the salary difference.

#welcometoSouthBeach

It's either us or Boston, I don't see any way he goes back to Utah.

I heard one of the reasons the Suns are fine with dealing Booker is that he has a drinking problem.

Lebron aint going to LA. Lakers probably need to just go ahead and get PG now so he can get a year under his belt with his new teammates even though I think the Lakers could get him without giving up any players

I will take the drinking problem if he goes off for 60. He is a better version of Klay, the defense isnt there yet though. The Cavs need to trade Shump for him LOL
