If they only go 4 and $60 then he's gone, but like a lot of you I'm not so sure he's worth the 5th year with what he did in the postseason. Especially if they have a real shot at signing CC and dealing for Shields/signing Darvish.

OK. I agree with this...I think. What is #2 money? If we offer him 5 years, $75M, is that about right?

Anything between 12 adn 15 mill is solid #2 money in my mind. He would be a highly paid #2, but he pitches like a highly capable #2.

I'd go 5 years, but I'd like the 5th year to be a team option. If the 5th year is a deal breaker but he is willing to take around 12-13 million per year, then give him the extra year. He is young enough that last year won't kill us. If he were 35 then I would complain.

Going off topic here for a sec... but have you checked the ESPN boards in awhile? Your buddy AF25 has started posting once again...

Below is just me dreaming! haha

If we could sign CJ for 4yr 60mil with a 5th year option that isn't difficult to reach then I'd do it. I would then go hard after Yu Darvish. If we're able to land Darvish I would offer Ogando and Harrison/Lewis along with a good package of prospects to the Dodgers for Kershaw. We'd then have a rotation of Kershaw, Wilson, Holland, Harrison/Lewis, and Darvish as our rotation. With Kershaw, Holland, and Darvish we'd have 3 potential Aces!

Well, forget about CC. Olney saying he deceded to not opt out and signed a 25 mil extension with NY. Cross him off the list.

No way Dodgers trade Kershaw, he's too good and too affordable still

CC is gone. he signed a new deal with the Yankees.

TB has pretty said they're not interested in trading Shields.

i thought everyone thought it was a mistake to even talk about bidding on Darvish.

I guess you missed the part about me saying that it was just me dreaming. It's highly HIGHLY unlikely to happen but if any team has the pieces to make a trade for Kershaw then it's us.

I think Harrison and Ogando would look really good in Dodger stadium. They wouldn't be as good as Kershaw but they'd be pretty dang good.

Texas fell apart, I'm sure he is. The only people that still post on ESPN regularly are the trolls and the sticks in the mud that refuse to change. No need to deal with them.
