Yes we needed help on defense. However, if you had this guy rated the highest on your board this is the way to go. Don't reach. Reaching and ego has gotten the Cowpaddies in the mess they're in IMO.

The Landry days always took the best player available and they did fine. Drew Pearson wasn't even drafted.

Things could be interesting if this kid plays well for the next month plus.

I hate to bring this up, but we're going to be looking for a 3rd baseman sooner than some think. And what happens to AB if this decision is within 2 seasons?

I just checked and AB has a vested option for 2016.

Agree. Also wonder if Odor proves to be the real deal if they don't start grooming Profar for 3rd. Might be getting ahead of myself a little here. But AB range has left at an astounding rate of decline.

Something to certainly consider. Beltre's legs are giving way and it appears obvious to me

I think Profar ends up at third most likely.
