I agree although I wouldn't be for it like ericd. I do think LSU is a very good team, but not winning your conference.... hell, not winning your division is a big no-no to me when only considering 4. Baylor, OU, Oregon, or Utah having that 13th data point matters a lot in my opinion and the system should reflect that. But that is my opinion.

The committee agrees with you.

No the committee doesn’t. The committee changes criteria whenever it wants. Ohio State played in the playoffs when the committee stated “conference championships matter” despite not playing in a conference title game.

It was without a doubt the dumbest thing I have ever seen in college football. Maybe the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. So dumb that I never watched it. It takes a lot to make me not watch college football.(getting a blow job or a fucking rematch when LSU already beat them would do it) Hell I’ll watch Akron vs UTEP but I wasn’t watching that stupid shit ever. I mean seriously if LSU would have won the second game would a bunch of fucking fags from Alabama be screaming “BEST OUT OF 5!!! BEST OUT OF 5??”

If you don’t think that shit was GAAAAYYYY then you’re probably gay.

Don’t have an opinion. Bama won and destroyed LSU in the NC (really dominated the game in November too just missed a million fucking kicks)Thus proving they deserved to play LSU.

That Bama team was one of the greatest of all time IMO. Definitely a top 3 defense the game has ever seen.

Feel free to show a single instance where a 1-loss non champ was taken over a 1-loss conference champ.

The committee has been consistent in that regard. They have yet to leave out a 12-1 P5 champ to allow in a nonchamp. The 2 nonchamps were in only at the expense of 2-loss champs.

They were the two best teams that year.

But, it kind of shot the hell out of the "Every game matters" mantra CFB purists like to spew in defending the status quo. Obviously, the 9-6 win by LSU in the conference game with Bama didn't matter. It didn't matter that Bama lost that game...not one damn bit!

I wasn’t a member here when this went down. And you all have some great college football knowledge. The end 2011 season. LSU and Bama rematch. Oklahoma State had a beef about this. Many weren’t in favor of a rematch. Would like to hear yalls views on this.

omfG! It's :stevie:

The only reason Iowa State beat Oklahoma State that night, was because of the circumstances surrounding the game.

It would have affected anybody.
And it did.

Oklahoma State and Mike Gundy were put in a difficult spot, and did the best they could.

So, bottom line is that I don't hold that game against them.

It's about the lamest excuse I can think of....they were up 24-7 in the 3rd quarter...was that when they became emotionally distraught.

There are lamer excuses. Like the players were checking their draft grades, didn’t want to be there, hurry up offenses are dangerous, the regular season conference schedule was to tough on them and only having a month off is unfair.

I don't know, I think how that came went down entered into the conversation. We outgained them by 30%, and missed more field goals than LSU made in a game decided by 3 field goals to 2. Had LSU dominated us, the rematch would have never happened.

You did read the small print.

Every game matters unless you are Bama
