Your Take. 2011 Season End

I wasn’t a member here when this went down. And you all have some great college football knowledge. The end 2011 season. LSU and Bama rematch. Oklahoma State had a beef about this. Many weren’t in favor of a rematch. Would like to hear yalls views on this.

The re-match was deserved, and the better team won. I still feel this is the best Alabama team in the BCS-Playoff era.

I semi enjoyed the game day game we played that year too. Good game for the first half and a 1/3.

But, I had no qualms with it. The first matchup if I recall correctly was a pretty good game so that added in to the rematch.

Nah. I watched the game. Both games between LSU and Bama. Just curious what you all thought.

Personally I thought it was genuine horseshit.

That being said if you asked me in August of kicking the crap out of OU, winning the conference, and capping it off with a Fiesta Bowl victory over Andrew Luck and a final #3 ranking was above expectations I would have said yes.

I still think if you removed the word "State" from our uniforms Bama doesn't get a second shot but I'm cool with it. LSU's lackluster performance in the MNC game bothered me for a while. No one was beating Bama that day. They were dominant and well prepared. But I think the way LSU played there were a handful of teams that would have been better and if you aren't a blue blood you have no room for error getting to that stage so it is what it is. But in hindsight I can't let that take away from the best season I've experienced as an alumni and fan.

No one able to find deer antler spray in New Orleans that day either, but it is what it is. LSU wasn’t winning a rematch against Saban.

At the time, IIRC, there were some people that thought the best two teams played for the title, some that thought Oklahoma State had a better resume and should’ve gotten in, and there were some that thought that best two teams played AND Oklahoma State had the best resume.

People talked about boycotting but i don’t know that anyone did.

Pretty standard message board stuff.
