I'd go Steve Emtman for you all... Certainly not a #1 overall career there...

That is silly. He was one of the best DTs in his short career. He just busted up his leg and was never the same. Bust implies a complete failure. They are special in their ineptitude

That's why I never include Ki-Jana Carter. Injuries are different.

No Buckeye list would be complete without Vernon Gholston, #6 pick in the 1st round of the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

Houston hasn't produced a lot of big time NFL players, but we've sent a few pretty good ones to the league (e.g., Robert Newhouse, Alois Blackwell, Riley Odoms, Lamar Lathon, and Allen Aldridge come to mind).

In any event, and more importantly ...

Oh I'm sure ya'll have. Just giving you a hard time.. :)

Not in the NFL he wasn't... Yes, I get that it was because of injury, but thought I'd seen a few people were mentioning that were injury related... If not, never mind...

But let's be clear. Emtman was NEVER a premier DT in the NFL... 8 Sacks, 121 tackles in his career... He had one great play in that game against the Dolphins...

We can imagine what could have been, but let's not re-write history here.

Not rewriting. Guy was great as a rookie, before blowing out his knee.
Guy had 49 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 FF, and 1 int that he returned 90 yards for a TD in 9 games.

Compare that to Suh's rookie year. 16 games, 48 tackles, 1 FF, 1 int, and 10 sacks.

He was one of the best DTs in the game as a rookie. 49 tackles from a DT is elite in 9 games. For a comparison in 1993 Cortez Kenndey made All-Pro with 77 tackes and 6.5 sacks.

I wanna be fair because he's only entering into his second year, but at this point - it's shaping up to be Marcus Smith.

Let's compare him to other DEs as Emtman played Left Defensive End for Indy that season... Tackle numbers seem good. Sack numbers seem low.

But I'll concede he was better than I thought... For a very short time, but enough to keep him from "All Time Bust" status.

Ron Dayne was quite a bit less productive than his college career

Florida State is putting together a good list of QB busts, EJ Manuel, Ponder, we'll see what Winston does.

Not many busts I can think of. Some great Buckeyes ended up not getting drafted high.

I would say Maurice Clarett bc of his potential, but he pretty much fucked his career up before his short stint in the NFL.

Art Schlichter. He was such a massive bust that he could head the list from any school.

Kyle Wilson, so unfortunate that he had to be drafted by the Jets
