When you grew up watching really really bad baseball you had to find other things to entertain yourself

Can't exactly recall the first time I went to Shea, but it was probably an opener, and I probably froze my touchas off

1972, Little League outing to Fenway. Two bus loads of kids from West Manchester sitting in the left field bleachers driving the coaches crazy :D

They played the Texas Rangers, I remember a high scoring game and a Sox win

The first MLB game I recall attending was in Kansas City, the A's vs. the Yankees. It would have been one of the last years of the A's in KC, probably 1966 or 1967.

On our way in through the turnstiles, a stadium worker was above a metal grating getting balls that apparently had been hit there during batting practice, and dropped a ball into the glove I was wearing.

There was a gadget ("rabbit") ball-holder behind the home plate umpire that opened/rose up when he needed a fresh supply of balls.

Mickey Mantle was playing; I remember one of the adults letting me look through binoculars to see him at the plate.

Early 1970's Shea Stadium, i was 7 or 8 years old. I only really remember how green the grass looked and how big the outfield looked. I asked my dad about it years later and he told me Seaver pitched that game, but i don't remember and I think he made that up .

yes

the trough

First game I ever went to at Fenway I had a sore neck afterwards because the seats were so weirdly angled you had to turn 45 degrees to look at the field.

Always wondered what they were thinking when they built that place.

First MLB Game was in 1978: Dodgers @ Braves in Fulton County Stadium. Listened to the Mizzou Upset @ Notre Dame on the radio on the way to the ATL. Didn't quite get how the crappy Braves could beat that great Dodgers Team that ending up winning their second consecutive pennant. That's baseball. Of course, I am a Reds fan!

First game I went to at old Exhibition Stadium in Toronto my dad and I were seated on those old metal benches on the first base side and I punched BJ Birdy in the beak. It wasn't malicious and I wasn't old enough to do any damage or anything but he/she was not amused.

My parents hit up boston on their honeymoon.

Dad still tells the story of not knowing what to do when he parked on a street and a guy came up and asked for his keys.
