2-0 and they dont bring him in to get the easy save?

They must be losing faith in that one pitch he has.

It's pretty obvious he hung on a little too long.

Opposing hitters have have .867 ops against him this month and he has an ERA over 4.00

He's hurting their playoff chances by continuing to suck

He's doing people like me who HATE the Sinstripes a favor if he is hanging on too long!

I doubt I'm the only member who would LOVE a NYY-free baseball post-season,
whoever ended up winning it.

I agree and disagree. Agree because, outside the cowboys, I hate them more than any team in sports. But, without a team to hate, the playoffs get a bit boring. Its like the ncaa tourney with no Duke or the BCS chase with no Oklahoma. You love it but theres no one to hate.

It's positively knee-buckling to see Mariano and Jeter struggling mightily. :fap:

Or maybe it had something to do with Nova dominating the O's?

What do you think are the chances that Mariano comes back at some point next season? I don't foresee him participating in spring training but just think. If the Yankees* are winning early and need help at closer, you know the speculation is going to be rampant.

Easy save opp like he has been getting the last 20 years, but they decide not to use him

They must be fighting for a playoff spot and are going with their best pitchers

Chances of NYY making post-season are real slim. They can hope (along with the Os & us) but I cant see it happening

Id love a Detoilet-free post-season myself (which wont happen) but am counting on the BoSox, A's or Rangers to blow em out of there quick. They aint gonna get a shot at the NL...

No matter what, I'm glad that Yank$ have to keep paying for a fraud. If they had gotten all of that salary relief, it would have been a travesty.

As for the playoffs this year, the only way I'd get a modicum of joy of the Yank$ making it would be if they were the reason PEDtolo Colon and the A's didn't make it.

Its nothing if you got talent &/or a lot of luck. I cant see Tampa or the As laying down or imploding enough to give the Yanks, Os or us any opp to slide in

If the Yanks are in it, he'll be back. How could he possibly resist riding in on his white horse to rescue the overwhelmed David Robertson? The glory will be his for the taking.

An implosion is not needed to make up 3.5 games in a month. The A's are safe now after the sweep.

The Rays play 7 more on the west coast this week, play 3 against the Sox, play 4 against the Rangers, 4 against the O's, and 3 against the Yanks. So after this roadtrip they play 14 of their final 20 games against quality opponents who can easily beat them in a series.

Yanks got RSox (twice), Rays, Os, Jays, Giants & 'stros left. Last 3 could be cake. Other 3 are all contending & wont be walk-overs. Os got the same sched less Giants & 'stros - add in Chisox who can always surprise. We got Os, Mets, Royals (twice), Chisox (twice), 'stros & Twins. Both Os & Tribe having a ton of trouble scoring with RISP

Im still calling no WC for 3/3.5 out teams

What about the 6 IP before that? How did he do?

That is irrelevant now. If a batter is hitting .345 with 4 HR and 15 RBI in his last 40 AB's but batted .187 with 0 HR and 3 RBI in the 40 AB's before that. Is he struggling or not?

No, he's just wildly inconsistent and his team will likely not rely on him in certain situations.
