Something happened. No effort whatsoever. Maybe someone told them to tank so they can fire Woodson sooner.

That's what I thought the Lakers were doing - but the last win took them from the 4th worst team to the six games from the bottom and now they are obviously going to win this one tonight. Appearantly you have to really work hard to lose

I didn't see the game and glad I didn't cause it looks like the NYK got beat like a rented Mule

But but but.....

Skip Bayless said the Knicks could make a run for the Title.

The Knicks were creeping up on Atlanta. Still had time. This was not the way to start this 5-game roadie and expect to make the playoffs.

Games like this happen for the Lakers this season. Everyone gets hot and it's hard to stop or keep up.

It is just one of those flukey timing things.
LA has a coach and players who won't likely be there next season playing out a meaningless stretch.

They had the coaching greenlight (or possibly didn't even care to ask) to wildly jack up as many 3-point shots as possible.

It is not a sound strategy, and it usually ends in failure.
Most teams probably lose 7 out of 10 games if they played that way.
Only teams that have nothing whatsoever to play for....even attempt it

But, every once in a while all those 3-pointers will fall in.
The Knicks just happened to be the unlucky recipients of a 3-point rainstorm.

You want it alphabetically??

I'm sure they were all just jittery about playing in front of the new boss, who said he wasn't even going to be at the game but would watch from his McMansion. He'll be fed up with the losing in less than three years and will once again retire.

Man, NY just QUIT last night.

No excuses for giving up 100 points in 3 quarters to ANYBODY - that was as pathetic a performance as it gets.

There really isn't much else to say. They get virtually nothing from Chandler, Stat, JR and Felton on a nightly basis. It's just sad to watch. I made it for the first quarter and couldn't watch that mess any longer.

Didn't the Lakers drop the 51 points in the first quarter though - that's more like the Knicks never started isn't it?

My bad - the Lakers did their real damage in the 3rd quarter with the 51 points - still not a good omen for the Knicks this year - they are finished

The Lakers scored 51 in the 3rd quarter. At the end of the 1st quarter the Knicks were actually up 22-14. Then the roof fell in on them.

I was actually disappointed - At this point I would rather see the Lakers go for the best first round draft pick possible - but these guys on the floor are all playing for contracts for next year and they want to win. I agree though that the game was a fluke as someone said - It is important to have some good three point shooters, but it shouldn't be a way of living
