I have and again...when we have basically owned the division for the last 20 years why wouldn't we be cocky? You wouldn't be if it was the Bears? Lets take a look at the last 20 years....

Most wins in the North? Packers
Most Division Titles? Packers
Most Conference Titles? Packers
Most Super Bowl wins? Packers
Only division team to win a Super Bowl? Packers
Winning record against division foes? Packers

Again why wouldn't Packer fans be cocky RIGHT NOW? Can an injury to Rodgers end all that? Sure. Price you pay for having an elite QB.

And don't give me the argument "you've had two elite QBs". The Bears have had 90 years to find one and still haven't. Not our fault.

The air must be thin atop the high horse you ride. You are another one of these lifeless fans, that have nothing in life better than a fucking football team. Why is it you are deserving of credit for something you have absolutely nothing to do with. Did you play or coach for the Packers during any period? Not likely, so shut your fucking cock holster and beat feet bitch. Get a job blowing up hot balloons you giant wind douche bag. For fucks sake too, learn how to fucking spell depleted you fat cheese scarfing asshat.

Did I ever once name you? But you automatically assumed I expected a Super Bowl when you made your post. Sorry to the cool Bears fans here that this idiot represents you.

I don't represent anyone or anything on this board other than myself.

But Peter most definitely does represent many on this board!

Just to clarify,
This Idiot

The division could be real interesting this year, injury's aside on paper we look real good, the Packers have Rodgers so they always look good, and the Achilles heal of Detroit, their coach, is gone, this scares me as well. Poor minny.

Poor Minny? That team has outdrafted the rest of the North 3 years running now. They are young, but when they grow up, assuming they escape injury, I'm not going to be feeling very sorry for them. I still think they are one or two more years away, but come 2016, they are going to become a serious problem.

When Detroit can find a second offensive weapon that can stay healthy consistently, and fix their back seven. I'll buy it. But until then, it's the same old BS we hear every year.

Wow you nailed it. Who are you the amazing Kresken or The Most Interesting Man in the World? You lose all credibility by having Daniel Tosh as your pic. Let me guess 5 years ago it was Dane Cook. Hey college called, they're kicking out all the 7 year seniors still in a frat.

Aaron Rodgers, tired of being pegged as gay, has started a public relationship with Olvia Munn. Some think its a direct competition with Cutler and his celebrity wife since they are such good friends . I'm thinking if Aaron has a bad year, those fans are gonna want him to go back to the pole. Jessica Simpson almost ruined Romo's relationship with his fans, I dont think this is gonna be much different.

"Cutlers celebrity wife"

Sorry can't top that joke

Lets take the recent Packers history with the 49ers. Both teams have remained very good the last few years, but the Packers didnt improve enough from 2012 to beat them last season. Would you discount the Packers chances of beating the 49ers this season only because they havent been able to win against them recently??
Maybe Im wrong, but Id think youd take issue from a 49er fan making that claim.

I'm not on a Niners board so what does this have to do with Packers Bears or NFC North? Where did I ever proclaim the Packers as a dynasty OUTSIDE of what they have done within the division? And for the record I wouldn't dispute it. I am of the belief "don't talk about it be about it". And we haven't been about it with the Niners

Nope, that would be me. I'm saying this coming year will be difficult for the Packers because of the improvements on the Bears' D. JMO. I think the NFCN is the Bears to win or lose.

For the most part I respect you as a poster. BUT don't assume that nobody else improves and that the sexy pickups equate to anything and considering WE have won 3 straight it's OURS to win or lose. You haven't earned that right

So, basically. What you're saying is...

"We've won the last three years! *PLUGS EARS* LALALALALALALALALALALALALA!!!!!!!!!"

This argument really didn't require multiple pages in a thread, now did it? But thanks for making a dead period in NFL talk, not so… dead. I guess.

I understand where you're coming from... But there are several reasons why I think the Bears will win the NFCN this season. First, players on the Bears offense, including linemen, have been practicing together most of the offseason down here at Brandon Marshall's camp. They are very confident that they will have a hell of a year. During OTA's (granted no physical contact), the extra work really showed. The receivers ran crisp routes, Cutler was excellent with throws, and everyone seemed to gel. Even after Bennett's scuffle, players from both sides of the ball spoke about the closeness of the team. Second, yes the sexy pick-ups will improve the Bears D, barring injuries. Peppers has been gradually slowing down over the last several seasons due to a foot injury, and last season he was exposed when the players around him were not as good as usual. Allen is already an upgrade in energy, age (okay a couple of years, but significant enough when referring to d-linemen), and performance. The additions of Houston and Young will will pay huge dividends late in a game when the Bears are rotating linemen in-and-out of the game... Sure a hell of a lot better than the pieces of shit they had lining up on the ball last season. With the improved d-line, this will mean offensive linemen will not as easily crash down on linebackers. Finally, They will have more opportunities to be involved in plays rather than taken out of them. All of this translates to improvement with db's. With more pressure on the QB and better run d, the db's will have more opportunity to react to play action instead of being caught by it.

So these improvements on offense and defense will certainly translate to more wins next season. How many more? Who knows... But I am confident the Bears could go 10-6 or 11-5, barring injuries. So yeah, I do think the NFCN could be the Bears for the taking. And why not? This is the Bears board and I am supposed to be a homer.

Until Minny finds a QB, they're stuck... Can they win some games? They have AP, yes. And, I agree, they do have a lot of stock piled young players, but you still need a QB.

true enough. I guess in time we will find out if their picking up who some previously thought could be the #1 pick in the draft turns out to be that guy. Let's hope not.

There are some people who have been overly optimistic on the Bears. But the same can be said of every single fanbase in the league at some point. I have been in a pool every year where we predict every teams' win-loss record. Last year I was in fact way too high for the Bears, after vacillating between 10-6 and 11-5 I went with 11-5 because the schedule looked easy. I totally underestimated the degree of the Bears defensive collapse.

Before that, however, I have either been exactly right or underpredicted the Bears win total in every single season I have been in this pool except for 2007 (I had them going 9-7 and they went 7-9). Going back to 2005. So I have done like this (for the Bears):

Under: 4 seasons
Right on: 3 seasons
Over: 2 seasons

If you want to call me an overly-optimistic homer, go ahead. I've generally done pretty well in the pool though. Last year we had 34 people in and I came in 15th, the year before I came in 2nd out of 37 (which was the best I have ever done). I might suck this year, who knows, but you have to be more careful with your home team than any other team because emotions can cloud your judgment. Like thinking you can ignore an entire division of foes when your team doesn't appear to be all that frightening to any rational analysis because you "owned" them in previous years (if an 8-7-1 record amounts to ownership, of course).
