Miller isn't going anywhere and 99% of us believe that
Not quite yet. They resumed negotiations over the last couple of weeks and from the sound of things both sides are pretty happy with where things are and have patched up any damage done to the relationship between the Broncos and Von Miller during these negotiations. Unfortunately with how these things go he still might not sign until the deadline.
A couple of reasons for this
1) I'm sure the two sides have dug back in a bit and are hoping the deadline spurs the other side to raise the price just a bit more but in the end they still get something done.
2) Now it might only be a little in NFL terms but the longer that guaranteed money sits in the Broncos bank account the more interest they collect on it. So it actually does make sense at this point to wait even just a few days if you know something is going to get done.
Now I would love if they just got it done now anyway but my guess is Friday Von Miller is locked up long-term by the Broncos.
That is an option but he wants like 25-30mil per yr, and John knows he ain't worth it...
These mega-deals for franchise tagged players always go down to the wire. Nothing new here, just more fodder for the NFL "dead-season". Look for the breaking news story that Von Miller signs the biggest contract ever for a defensive player sometime late Thursday or early Friday morning. This deal will get done.
Oldschool not sure where you get your facts from but you might want to start looking elsewhere. The Broncos and Von Miller's camp have already agreed on the length and overall dollars of the contract. The only issue left to solve was/is the guaranteed money. They have agreed to a 6-year/$114.5 million contract. Just puts him above Suh for the top money of a defensive player and puts him at $19.1 million per year well below the $22.13 million that Flacco is getting per year.
You're wrong. Here are Flacco's cap numbers through the end of his contract.Don't know where you got yours from but the nfl channel is reporting that the guaranteed money was boosted from 58m to 61m and payable by 2017 instead of 2018....But Miller wants 70m+ guaranteed and I presume paid by 2017....
And Joe is not counting 22m against the cap, he got 40m up front so I'm sure that's inaccurate.
Don't care though, we are setting pretty good with the cap either way....

Flacco 2016 Cap Hit $22,550,000. FYI the up front bonus money is spread over five years.
As each day goes on and he's not signed you got to believe teams are preparing offers for Miller. Still think Denver keeps him though.

Come on, man, I literally posted a link with his cap breakdown for the rest of his contract.I think you're wrong, Joe carried a 40mil check down to the BBall court to show his team mates...
But I am a long way from Cap expert, all I know about it is that it has left us setting good cap wise according to all our reports...
You have a little wishful thinking going on here.
Oldfool is too stupid to figure that out. These are awfully big numbers compared to the 2+2 stuff he is learning right now.

So we are looking at around $25 million being the actual average over the next 6 years of the contract for Joe Flacco.
The cap is projected to be at over $200mil two years from now. That's what...a $45 mil increase over 2016? Flacco's numbers aren't changing.
