Seriously, though. It is amazing how a team could lose a player the caliber of Harper and still manage to come this close to potentially winning a World Series.

I'd like to say it will knock some sense into teams when it comes to paying the premium players enough money to feed a third world country for 2-3 years, but I doubt it.

Baseball is such a team game, you can lose a star and still be competitive if you get some good scrappy players... I’d take 3 solid players over 1 superstar ... Gotta have depth, more guys that can potentially come through ...

Harper's really good but not great. His contract is awful. Mike Trout is an anomaly who's had a legit argument for MVP every single season he's played.
