Montgomery's still not signed because Boras is trying to get him a higher $ contract than what his lifetime stats are worth. I also think he really wants to come back to the Rangers or otherwise he'd already be signed by someone else. If he comes back to Texas I think it will be 3-4 years at about $18M per year plus a signing bonus and innings incentives...
Is Snell a Boras client also. I wonder if teams are getting tired of dealing with Boras.

I wonder if Montgomery is the next one to become more flexible.

I wonder if this means the Rangers and Channel 21 are in discussions about a long term deal for 2025 and beyond.

I think it was a combination of things this years that made teams hold off on some of the players he represented. Take Montgomery for instance he's a decent pitcher that had a good run with the Rangers in 23. The word I seen was he was looking for a long term contract worth close to $200M based on a great second half. As you can see nobody has bit on that and are waiting for something more realistic. When some teams sign players to ridiculous contracts like Nola did other players think they can get that or more. Monty is finding out that isn't going to work because the teams think Nola is a better pitcher but not worth what he got. Unless someone really desperate for pitching bites he's gonna have to sign for a lot less than what he wants..

What if Wash had went through with the idea of putting in Endy Chavez for defensive purposes?

What if Bowie Kuhn wouldn't have threatened Brad Corbett with tampering, essentially keeping the Rangers from signing Lyman Bostock. Bostock might still be alive today.

4) Josh Jung, 3B, Rangers
Key stat: .867 postseason OPS on Rangers' WS run
Jung was an All-Star as a rookie last season, so that's pretty good by itself, but the full breakout is coming. It might have happened already if Jung's second half wasn't derailed by a broken thumb in August. But the 26-year-old's postseason run -- Jung batted .308 with three homers and an .867 OPS for the World Series champs -- should help convince you that the All-Star Jung who had 19 homers and a 126 OPS+ at the break is the real Jung. Especially when you see that he also hits the ball hard and in the launch angle sweet-spot more than most big league hitters while playing an excellent third base.

If he can just stay healthy.

Looks like Rangers are slow playing Garcia and his knees, this could mean Langford makes the team if his knees are going to be an issue...

I have seen one article speculating on that, but I haven't seen any of the regular beat writers mention it.
