No, you did not use those words, but you did specify certain players and not any others that would also help. To me, that equates to "a certain extent." In other words, they will spend to make the team better by adding certain players, but not others. Meaning there is a limit on their willingness to spend. Is that a fair assessment?

Yeah, but Ohtani, and Yanamoto would definitely make us a much better team, but I doubt ownership is willing to spend that much.

I doubt they will spend as much as you and I want them to spend on the pen, actually.

I get the idea they are counting on Leclerc, Sborz, Hernandez, Bradford, Heaney and Burke to be six of the eight guys in the pen. They may even be expecting either Church or Kelly to make the club.

I bet Heaney is a SP and hope Bradford is.
Kelly could easily make the club. Flip of the coin if Stratton is back. Burke I have no feel for but here is one guy who needs a better year Still have Latz and Yerry who may have a shot. Grant Anderson is on roster. Owen White and Zak Kent may be AAA SP depth

We come easily pick up 3 relievers

I have said we add 2 and maybe the 3rd being a long reliever. I have to think they are not going beyond the luxury tax. One of which is a closer

Hopefully Whire and Kent eventually become SP depth at some point in 2024. I do think we are going to be lacking in that area through the first half of 2024 if they don't acquire someone.

You are not in the minority at all. I railed on CY more than anyone beginning almost a year ago about his lack of attention to the bullpen. I drove one poster to the point of insanity, almost, by my railings. Lol I was the first to say during 2023 that we needed 5 bullpen pieces in the offseason.

I simply said what I get the feeling that CY will do. That in no way means I agree.

I usually try to differentiate between what I want and what I think will happen when I post about either. What I want to happen and what I feel they will do is often different, sometimes very different.

At some point sustainable contention year after year has to have some homegrown pitching in the mix. If we can get 2-3 relief pieces that can be considered winning pieces in late innings I would be please with the effort and would be preferable to what we had last year.

We can always have Heaney at some point moce for SP to the pen come September
