The Dbacks are gonna really play desperate tonight...for them it's do or die.
If the Rangers can't TCOB in game 5 then they'll have 2 more shots to do so...and they'll be at home.
But lowering the boom tonight would be advisable...because veering into uncertainty becomes more likely the longer this series goes.

Yep… and I don’t want the DBacks to have even a shred of “hope” by somehow winning a game tonight. Slam the damn door now.

1 year 16M which means we have to go out and find another closer for 2025 so yes we might have to pay a bit more but I would look for a quality closer that we can get for multiple years like Hader for around an AAV of 20M.

I have never cared for him and for the most part he is overrated. If he was with the Rangers I guarantee you we would not like the results.

My oldest son brought up something to me last night during the game and it was he thought Gray would be a good closer. He has the fastball and slider that a closer needs and he can just come in and let it go. I felt like it was worth something to think about.

I want Hader. I would like for the Rangers trade for Justin Lawrence and Jason Foley and 1 or 2 others. I would like them to discuss an 2 or 3 year extension with Leclerc that would lower his 2024 cap hit from the projected $6.25M to a more appropriate $4 to 4.5M

Kimbrel is going to be 36. He’s not as good. That’s why he would cost less.

16M is not a lot less than what better quality closers will get. And there’s the fact that in 2025 you’ll be paying even more for the next closer
