I think that's a direct result of these games going up against the NCAA Tournament.

They're hoping to grab some eyeballs from the end of the tournament to catch the late innings.

I don't like it, but I understand why they did it for the second round. Final round games all start at 9, with no tourney games opposite them.

Yeah, even then I'd prefer they go a bit earlier, but I think they didn't want to start the game (in LA) with a scattered crowd.

A lot of the audience is asleep by then.

And not overly helpful when you say the goal of the WBC is to "grow the game."

Fact is, over the last few years, I've heard quite a bit of complaining about the start times of the playoff games.

Young kids can't/shouldn't stay up that late.

Even for me, it's to damn late. I typically watch every playoff game regardless of the teams participating and by the end of the World Series, I'm fucking exhausted. This year, being exceptionally invested because of the Indians participation, the night after game seven, I slept for thirteen hours. That's crazy - I typically sleep 5-6 hours per night.

It's enough already. Start the fucking games at 7pm EST, like normal.

It's fucking late. It being an elimination game with pitch count limits, that game will go to 1am or later. When you wake up between 5:30-6am, that's fucking late.

MLB: we have a problem that young kids aren't getting into baseball, so let's start all the important/exciting games past their bedtimes.

I'm more bitching about the playoffs than I am the WBC. I really don't give a fuck about the WBC. Likely won't even watch all of tonight's game. Only saw a few dozen pitches of last night's game.
