Was he fat as hell, and reaked of smoked sausage? Yes...but he could coach, and got them to an Orange Bowl. Talk about a program that has taken a told for the worst. The Fighting Mangino's have to be missed at KU.

They had the talent one year. They won't have that talent ever again. You can't really blame that on current coaching. Even Mangino couldn't get that kind of talent again.

Kansas is good for about 1 really good year per decade. I think in the early 90's they finished top 10 and then in 07. 2018 looks to be the year of the Jayhawk!

Turner Gill is a great coach but this is a major challenge

Mangino was the greatest coach in KU HISTORY - nobody has ever won more games than him. He had more than one good season. He was recruiting decent talent and coaching up kids there, they were coming into their own. I don't know what booster he pissed off, but the man was the best they ever had.
