Week 10 is upon us.
The Steelers close out this 3 game homestand with the Rams coming in for the 3rd NFCW opponent of the season. It looks like both CBS and FOX have double headers this week...this matchup does appear to be the feature late game for FOX.
The Rams come into this game fresh off their bye week with a 5-3 record, and winners of 2 in a row. They rank 8th on OFC, and 15th on DEF. Digging a little deeper into their record, I'm not as impressed with the Rams this yr. The two quality wins both came at the beginning of the season. The two playoff foes since then were losses...a close one to SEA and they lost to SF 20-7. They made a huge trade before the deadline to get CB, Jalen Ramsey. Goff is having a so-so season to date...hitting on 61% 11 TDs/7 INTs, but also 6 fumbles. On the ground, it's still Todd Gurley and company, he's not the same runner...but 6 rushing TDs proves he's still effective.
Notable Injury picture
Conner...shoulder, Questionable...need to watch the practice participation
Foster...concussion, Questionable...I read he's progressing, likely to clear protocol
Trey Edmunds...ribs, Questionable...practice participation will drive his availability
Outlook
The Rams have handled two weaker teams rather easily in their last two games....but CIN and ATL are literally two of the worst DEFs in the league. The Steelers D should present more of a challenge this week. Nothing about the Rams OFC scares you. Kupp is a good WR, but shouldn't beat you. What he did against CIN was insane. Cooks (concussion) is noted to be out of this game. On DEF, the big gun is Aaron Donald, Clay Matthews is having a good season (might not play in this game), and so is Dante Fowler.
The Steelers can win this game, but they need to play better than they played vs IND on OFC in particular. Goff will give you the ball if you pressure him and PIT can pressure the QB. What will they do with it once they get it is the question? I would love to see 4 in a row, but I'm not feeling it so no score prediction from me this week.
What say you?
