Going to try something new. Every week I'll put up a new poll for each team in the top 9, and we'll vote on who we as a fan base think each team will select.

By the time we get to the Lions at 10 things should be at a fever pitch.

I'm going to keep the polls open to the whole Hoop since we have some allies who like to visit and get involved, but the posts and polls will all be on the Lions board.

Each week I'll merge each poll after we close them into one big time capsule thread.

1st up in the Houston Texans.

I'm already having trouble deciding between a QB and Clowney. Tough decision.

Locally, there is a feeling that the Texans are leaning Clowney. I'm thinking that's just a smoke screen testing if someone who does want Clowney is willing to give up a nice sum to get him. I think they are trying to trade out of the pick myself but I'm not sure who wants anyone bad enough to Ricky Williams their entire draft away.

I'm "guessing" that the selection will be UCF QB Blake Bortles. My reasoning (1) He has the prototypical height, weight (his frame could take more a beating than Teddy B., Johnny or Carr). (2) He would possibly project to have a higher ceiling with his size, stronger arm than the aforementioned. (3) Texans HC O'Brien saw first hand what Bortles capabilities are as UCF played/won at Penn St. in 2013.

Teddy B. has proven, IMO, to be more Pro ready than all other QB's when looking at his college level skill-set and how that projects to the NFL. The biggest knock on him would be his slight frame and not as strong of an arm to get the deep outs or down field, JMO. Bridgewater has unbelievable pocket awareness and precision accuracy.

I think Clowney and Watt is too tempting to pass up...

I think you have to go Clowney if you can't move out of it. When Johnny Manziel's draft-worthy, the QB class is all kinds of bad.

Will they? Probably not.

His passing is a joke. He will easily be one of the worst passers on the league.

Geno isn't a great passer, but hardly worse than manziel. Flacco and kaepernick outright shit on him.

Between Bortles and Bridgewater. Leaning Bortles right now but I think Bridgewater is a better fit. Bortles makes more sense in Cleveland or Oakland. Manziel in Jacksonville.

At this date, I would have to think the Texans go Clowney. Keep the opponents from scoring makes it easier to fill in the pieces on offense. I keep reading where this is a deep draft at many of the premier positions, so waiting to nab a QB\WR at the beginning of Round 2 isn't that much of a stretch.

I would love to see Johnny Football go #1 but I think they will take Bridgewater

Geno is a joke. I'd take Johnny over Geno, all day, everyday.

Can'd see the Texans tying up huge sums of cash on Clowney and Watts.

I get the rookie salary cap but down the road, and Watt is the face of the franchise right now. O'Brien is a drop back pro style QB guy thats why I think he is leaning Bortles. That is unless a team like Cleveland wants to give up a couple of first to jump up and get Clowney.

The Texans are desperate for a QB but the problem is….so are 3-4 other teams and they can't drop below them.

Blake Bortles is my guess for #1 overall.

Desperate for a QB doesn't mean reaching for a bad one is worth doing.

Texans gotta get the best QB in the draft. The Texans QB play was horrid last season. One of the top-3 has to be picked and i went with Bridgewater.

Take the difference-maker. None of the QBs really look impressive and I'd put them as 50-50 shots at best. If Clowney gets his head on right, he can be Julius Peppers.
