With Brady's suspension upheld, how many games does NE win?

Doubtful. I could easily see them go 3-1 over those games. Buffalo and Jacksonville are practically gimmes and the other two could be tight. Realistically, I think 2-2, but I wouldn't be even a little surprised to see them go 3-1 in those games.

@Buffalo is no gimme especially on defense and against a rookie QB. Are you joking?

Pit game one? loss

@ Dallas? they must score...route.

NE has no corner backs.... They will have to score...alot.

Big Ben is licking his chops and playing Pit with rookie QB?

He is not the second coming of Brady so everyone needs to drop that idea before it gets going..Better odds he is a Sanchez.

Playing Pitt with a rookie QB (even though garoppolo isn't one)? Who cares? That D has the making of one of the worst in the league. They were below average last year and is probably going to be worse this year because 3 of their best players from last year, including one of their only pass rushers, retired.

Hell if you could hand pick a defense in this league right now to start an unseasoned QB against that Pitt D would be near the top of the list. Can't rush the passer, can't cover, doesn't create turnovers and gives up huge chunks of yards on every rush. People still thinking that is a good defense is living in the past.

Pitt is an amazing offense, maybe the best in the league, when Bell is healthy and on the field....but no one needs to honor the run with Williams in the backfield. Makes them a lot less scary. And the only thing scary about the Steelers is their offense.

Anything can happen. NE could be 4-12 at seasons end. But to assume they are just going to fold to teams in those first 4 weeks is a huge assumption. The teams they play all have some possibly glaring and fatal weaknesses of their own that they will be dealing with as well. And with the exception of the Buffalo D, they don't play a good defense those first 4 weeks.

The first five games are the most crucial and roughest part of the schedule. They play Pittsburgh and go on the road to play Buffalo,Indy and Dallas. The only gimme in the first five games would be the home game against Jax.

If they start out 1-3 which could happen looking at their schedule, also the combination of losing Revis and Browner in their secondary, this could be a tough one for the Pats to over-come... AFC East could come down to the wire... But looking at the QB situations, man, Brady is still at another level compared to any other QB in that division...

Put me in the 10-6 or 11-5 camp.

Hoodie won and made the postseason with Matt Cassel.

I think a 2-2 start with wins against Buffalo and Jacksonville is quite reasonable. Then they get the pretty boy back and go on a run.

I think they start 1 - 4 since Tom's first game back is at Indy.

I look forward to seeing what Garapolo can do - what if they win all 4 games and Jimmy does a good job? ... will Brady play game 5 or will they bench his ass?

That is one of my questions. Same goes for if the Pats are 3-1 and the QB has done a great job?
That will be a great decision the HC will have to make. Possibly lots to ponder.

Picking the Pats year is on par with the difficulty of predicting SF's, or Philly's year.

Answering the OP my WAG is 10-6. That might win the division.
FWIW I did vacillate between 9-7 and 10-6. Their history swayed in their favor on my prediction.

Brady's introduction to the league could be his exit? Interesting if things play out that way

I think they start 1 - 4 since Tom's first game back is at Indy.

The Pats have played the Colts 4 times in the last 3 years. Those four meetings have resulted in:

A 35 point NE win
A 21 point NE win
A 22 point NE win
A 38 point NE win

Even if the Pats aren't deflating the balls this time I wouldn't bet on the Colts in that match up. Mostly because Indy defending the pass hasn't necessarily been the issue in those games. The Colts are averaging 72 yards rushing and over 3 turnovers a game in those match ups. Of course the teams have each changed quite a bit from last year so who knows.

I'm going with 9-7. Pats are going to get off to a rough start, going to hard to rebound from that. Brady and offense started off kind of sluggish last year, could happen again once Brady gets back. It would be amazing to see another team win this division. Way over due.

The Pats often trade guys while they still have value in the league. Can you imagine the Pats trading away TB if JG steps up?
