I pretty much agree with what you just said. All hype and no substance.

Padded stats and no real talent. A slimy coach and no real class.

Man, somebody's grouchy this morning.

Padded stats? Not really. I'll compare him to Burkhead in 2011: He had 23 more touches than Burkhead for 566 more yards and 18 more touchdowns. 23 more touches over the course of a 13 game season isn't all that significant, especially when you consider that for Ball, it was a 14 game season. That's an extra carry and a half per game, which is reasonable since we were ahead in most games and didn't want to throw the ball too much.

No real talent? The ball didn't run itself last year. 39 touchdowns from scrimmage is IMPRESSIVE. Ball is not the best back to ever play the game, but he is certainly good. And while it's true that the Wisconsin oline and Wilson made his job much easier last year (and I expect his numbers to decline this year now that Wilson's gone), he's still going to have good numbers this year, depending on if O'Brian can be another Tolzien.

Slimy coach? I personally don't think so, but I will allow that I am a giant homer and probably shouldn't be trusted when it comes to subjective things like this.

No class? Come on, Brasky. Your fans are the ones with all the class, but making comments like that? I have more respect for Nebraska than this. Ball's had a rough summer, but that's about it. Unless you're trolling in which case you leave me no choice:

I actually think all of the backs are going to catch more passes this year. Ball especially. He's got great hands. I could almost see him being like a Wes Welker in the NFL. Obviously he'd have to work on his receiver game, but I think he could do it.
