I thought so too. The actual call was pretty head scratching though. I mean, was Howard pushed into the net? LOL not at all...

I'd be bitching too. Hell, those are the kind of goals the Wings need right now themselves!

Well, that's just the way the season has gone this year for the Sens. Congrats none the less.

The Wings better tighten up their D though...lol

No shit they better. Lidstrom even had a couple brain cramps tonight. Couldn't get out of his own way or Jimmy's at one point.

Well, you can tell Neil doesn't like losing. The rest of the bunch didn't seem too concerned.

I have no idea what was up with that ref's explanation. Ok, I get the "intent to blow the whistle" rule. I don't ALWAYS agree with it (see Brad May), but I learned a long time ago to not get pissed about it because it's one of those irritating interpretations that can really annoy you. That was a quick whistle, but if the ref would have just got on the mic and said "I lost sight of the puck, I attempted to blow my whistle sooner, I wanted the play whistled dead before the puck crossed the line" I would have bought it. There would have been some booing, but I don't think anyone would remember it a week from now. But it was OBVIOUS no one pushed Howard, no Sen was really even near him. What the hell was he talking about on the phone to Toronto? That was all very weird.

Oh well, I'll take the shootout at the OK Correl.

Franzen is a BEAST!

Yeah, this is the biggest area of concern for me right here and it's one of the biggest reasons I've been lobbying for a rebuild all season. It seems like they just go through the motions, clock out, go home and get paid their millions of dollars. That's just not acceptable and the organization is going to find out that the fans in Ottawa won't support the team and won't support the current management unless they start thinking about going in a new direction (players and management alike).

All of the veterans on the team should NOT be safe if the right deal came along. Even Alfie should not be safe but he's the only one who should have a choice. All the others haven't done enough to be given the choice.

I can't wait until the trade deadline though. Maybe then the young guys on the team will start getting the ice time rather then the washed up vets...

That was a weird crowd. Usually the Wings have tons of fans in southern cities, Chicago, and Toronto... I'm not used to seeing them farther out east. But aside from that, there was a very weird feeling I was getting from the crowd. They were loud, they were into the game, but they were also taken out of it very easily. You could almost see the malaise steaming off the angry fans.

Well, that's Ottawa for you. When the Leafs or Habs come into Ottawa, they almost outnumber the amount of Sens fans so I would think that Detroit would have a pretty big following as well.

I think a lot of Sens fans are seeing the same thing that I am and what you pointed out. Nobody is happy and everybody is always expecting the worst so when things go wrong the attitude is "here we go again." The fans are mad in Ottawa though and rightly so. We're not used to seeing such a shitty team.
