OK, I am not going to be around for another few hours but thought I would go ahead and start a game thread.

Starting for the Rangers is CJ Wilson the staff ace. Starting for Oakland is the former Ranger and original Mr. Glass Brandon McCarthy who vigorously defended Michael Young from that boorish blogger from Minny. Kudos to Brandon who got a bad wrap from a lot of Ranger fans, including me, because he was traded for Danks and then promptly kept getting injured.

Anyway, on paper this seems to be a mismatch as CJ is 7th in the league in strikeouts, has a 10-5 record and has a nice 3.35 era. However, it seems based on comments this week that he hates Oakland with a passion because the park is bad, has a bad mound and the fans don't turn out to see a team filled with good young players like Mr. McCarthy. So with a :lm: probably out to get CJ anything might happen who hasn't had a positive decision in 4 games.

Anyway, good luck to the Rangers and I hope they beat the A's down. Will be back at the hacienda about 11:20 tonight so I'll get to see some of the game. Hopefully, by then it will be so out of hand that I won't want to watch.

Rangers lineup for tonight's game from ESPN Dallas so this may not be right:

RANGERS
2B Ian Kinsler
SS Elvis Andrus
LF Josh Hamilton
3B Michael Young
RF Nelson Cruz
DH Mike Napoli
1B Mitch Moreland
C Yorvit Torrealba
CF Endy Chavez

Got no problems with this lineup. Looks like just about the best they can roll out there. Very traditional. Should be very competitive against the Stork.

Oh, and BMac has been doing great since the all-star break. 4-0 with a 2.78 era. He has a very good WHIP this season at 1.17 and his era is a tick better than Wilson's at 3.31 but of course I expect that to change mightily after the Rangers pound him pretty good.

I love that our offense has backed CJ up today. So far so good. 9 runs in 4 innings, lets get 20. I hate the A's!

OK, what has transpired?

Rangers up 9-1. Perfect scenario. Going to go check the box score and play by play.

Looks like they treated BMac rather rudely tonight. Lots of singles. MY has a triple. 2-4. .336 batting average.

CJ is getting the hook. 114 pitches in a blowout.

McCarthy pulled after Endy lined a bullet at his right outside knee. Endy seems to be getting hot again. McCarthy was about to be pulled anyways. Team doctors say its just a bad bruise. CJ pitched a pretty good game but not efficient enough. Really did not want our BP to have to pitch from the 7th, but hopefully they get 9 quick outs.

Looks like Pujols have finally gotten on track. That is some good news. Still 4 back and they are going to have to start stringing wins together if they want to play in post season.

Hard for me to pull for the Cards when Pujols is so clearly on roids. How long did it take him to recover from that broken hand/wrist? Ummm yeah.

Talking Money ball and the movie about it right now. Thing is, if Beane was so friggin' smart how come he has went through like a million managers when he could have hired Ron Washington at any time. Instead, Rangers snap him up and he turns into one of the best managers in baseball. Go figure that one.

Hey some of my favorite players of all time were on Roids. Juan, Pudge, Raffy, Bonds, McGwire, Canseco, probably Bagwell, etc. However, I certainly doubt that Pujols is on roids. Can't rule it out but they do test for it now. I think I read that he really didn't have a broken wrist, just a hairline fracture. Not sure though.

Oh, and La Russa profited from roided players as much as Beane, the Rangers and the Yankees did. Still, love me some Pujols. :lalala:

Seems like Lowe pitches in every one of these blowouts. What is the deal with that?

Scott is in the game now. Anxious to see what kind of stuff he has got. Expecting to see the 17 game winner Scott and not last seasons.

Is it my imagination or does Feldman give up the goofiest hits off of quality pitches? That was a terrific curve ball that Connor Jackson got the bloop double off of.

Lowe's stuff has just been nasty lately. I really have quite a bit of confidence in him lately. If we don't re-sign CJ in the offseason Feldman could step in nicely with Ogando potentially becoming the new #1.

Feldman threw some darned good pitches in that inning. His command was kind of spotty but the quality of stuff is definitely there. Cardinals should have traded for this guy. Not to late though.

Good low 90's sinker sitting around 92.
Excellent cutter to the lefties.
Saw a couple of dynamite curves. One got blooped in for a double.

Not bad for a long reliever. :thrasher:

Two guys that I honestly believe didn't use Roids during the era are Pujols and Thome. I'll never believe that either guy used them unless they test positive. Pujols is a very high quality guy which is why I doubt he used them.
