Jack looked good.
I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I thought there was something going on with him health wise.Seager off again? What is going on?
Well they might as well trade their prospect pitchers, since they can’t seem to develop them. And other teams seem to be able too.All of the arguments for Grossman is that he is a great DH against LH starting pitchers. They say he won't hurt defensively because he is a DH.
From the best I can tell the percentage of LH starting pitchers in MLB is 29%. That means after today, Grossman, if he stays healthy., will play in about 35 or 36 games. He was hurt for part of last year so he could easily spend 15 days on the DL this year. That gives him about 4 or 5 less starts.
So for 30 to 32 games we traded away one of our top 3 relief pitchers while we are having to run Hernandez, Anderson, and Yerry out there. And it is not just for those 32 games worth if Grossman, but for the difference between him and say Huff or Duran in those 32 games.
Why not have some patience and see if Duran and Huff and maybe Foscue can cut it. If they can't, you then trade for a more valuable player than a part time DH, in July. They are all but saying they have given up on Foscue, Huff, Duran, and Crim. That being the case use them, along with Hoopii-Tuionetoa in that July trade.
I remember. He needs to be in the line up unless he is injured.I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I thought there was something going on with him health wise.
I’ve been in a state of bewilderment since hearing about this.I wouldn't have wanted Grossman on waivers.
