No. MAC just canceled all fall sports. Everyone will follow suit this week probably.

Virus will still be out there in the Spring, it will still be around next Fall.

Close it all down until 2023.

Everyone will get a first game.

Not sure after that.
Won't reach week 1 unfortunately.

I say postpone the season and just start week 1 November 7th. Play through the winter. Playoffs/Bowls in late January or early February.

The MAC was doomed as soon as the B1G-MAC Challenge was cancelled.

Seriously, going to get interesting fast. I do think there will be some hold outs and the season starts but does not end. Maybe a split should happen with Regional OOC games in the early Fall with a shutdown followed by Conference only in the Spring like the MVC is allowing? So, some money can be generated NOW - without a total disruption. See what happens and adjust to do a better job for the shorter conference season in the Spring.

Just a thought.

So what has change? So all this time conferences spent to setup the season was all for nothing?

I don’t see the season getting postponed or canceled until we start seeing players and staff getting sick

B1G isn't playing. They'll be the first to call it off. Pac 12 will follow. Big 12/ACC/SEC will reluctantly follow.

When it's this hodge podge and this patchworked together it really undermines the credibility on the season and who should get the top 4 spots to the playoffs.

And then given it is so rapidly changing and it seems each couple of days we hear something different about the season, it really makes you wonder just how in the hell they'll be able to finish a season under these conditions, and some teams may be able to finish and others may not.

It's a train wreck.

String the hope out as long as you can to try and get every single penny you can possibly squeeze out of the fans/boosters/season ticket holders/ad revenue, because you know you're not going to have an entire season and every single university is going to take a major major major hit in their income.

I agree that B1G and Pac will shut down first, but I think the Big Xii will play at least one game (the OOC Home Game), and SEC might give it a go into October. No idea about the ACC. They are just hoping for Basketball Season.

All the G5s were IMHO. I can't find one that can make it without their money games and what few fans they would have gotten. And, they don't have the cash to conduct all the testing that the P5 schools do so their risk would be higher. Again, that's just my opinion.

The Big Ten is seriously ruining the CFB season for all of us. They seem to make the first move and everyone panics and thinks they have to follow because the Big Ten did it.

I'd much prefer the SEC approach to all this. Just play.

Here is the question I have. What has changed between last March when conference hoops tournaments/March Madness were cancelled and now? Testing? Masks? Social distancing?

More data and testing

In March we didn’t know much and at the time deaths were rising exponentially.

MAC dropping football really isn't all that shocking.. once the Pac,b16, and SEC all killed the OOC slate, it killed the G5. How are they going to afford the testing now that they won't get 500k games?
