I think, for the first time in 3 years, there will be.
Currently 70 are in and 39 are out.
We need 8 spots filled by the remaining 21 teams.
There are 8 5-6 teams that play each other next weekend, so 4 will get in
and 4 will be eliminated.
We'll change the totals to
74 In and 43 out.
(Note: Ole Miss is currently 5-6 but not counted because they have self-imposed a bowl ban
for this season)
We need to fill 4 spots from the remaining 13 teams.
Here they are.
5-6 Texas Tech @ Texas. Tech will be an underdog
5-5 Ga Tech vs UGA (Tech only has 11 games) They will be an underdog
5-6 Duke @ Wake Forest (Wake is the better team but these two teams always play
good games vs each other because they are a physical match-up for each other) I
still think Duke is an underdog
4-6 Florida State @ Florida and then vs ULM on 12-2. Toss-up with the Gates and if
successful a favorite over ULM
5-6 Temple @ Tulsa Tulsa is capable but Temple is better
5-6 Tulane @ SMU SMU has the better offense but Tulane is no slouch on defense. They've
played will lately. Game will be interesting.
5-6 UNLV @ Nevada Nevada has played decent football, as of late. UNLV has a different mood
each week. Interesting game
5-6 Buffalo vs Ohio Ohio is far the superior team, but if Akron beats Kent St on Tuesday night,
Ohio cannot win the Eastern Division of the MAC. Buffalo has been like UMASS and E Mich. (Lose
every close game they play) They are capable of beating Ohio. Especially if Ohio doesn't give its
all. btw...If Akron were to be upset by Kent St. Ohio wins the Buffalo game
5-6 La Tech vs UTSA Toss-up
These next 3 Sun Belt teams all have two games remaining.
5-5 Lafayette vs Ga Southern and then @ Appy St. They'll win one of those
4-6 ULM vs Arky State and @ FSU. They're done
4-6 New Mexico State vs Idaho and vs South Alabama. They've got a good shot at winning both.
We need 78 teams this year. 1 new bowl has been added (Frisco Bowl) and 2 folded. (Miami Beach Bowl
and the Poinsettia Bowl) I think we'll get 80 eligible.
