You’re gonna watch 39 bowl games? That’s like 130-140 hours of football. Don’t have much else going on do you?
I do it every year.
I watch college football every Saturday from Noon to 2:30 am. And I peek in on every game
that is being played. Maybe have 2 or 3 prime games, I spend most of my time watching, but
I'll watch bits of the 12 or 13 different games that are on TV. Hell, this pass Saturday I watched
portions of Harvard-Yale. I always watch a good portion of those Thursday or Friday night
Ivy League games that are on NBCSports.
Competitive football games are good football games to me. I watch HS games on Friday nights.
Many have already said it. College Football has the longest off-season of any of the major sports.
I watch it when it is on, because it won't be on for 9 months of the year. And when I am not watching
I read about College Football.
When I was young and growing up College Football on the tube was the ABC Game of the week.
November was always exciting because they would show a double-header. Teams were limited
in how many times they could appear on TV. I believe it was 1 National Appearance and 2 Regional
Games. The Notre Dame-Mich St game of 1966, the first game of the century, wasn't allowed
to be broadcasted live because both unbeatens were over the limit. They showed it on a tape delay
basis. January 1st got its rep because there would be 4 or 5 games on TV the same day. Totally
unheard of. That's where the "tradition" of having multiple tv sets came about. The Cotton and the
the Orange Bowl were played basically at the same time and then the Rose and Sugar Bowls were
on an hour apart. Somewhere in the middle the Gator Bowl was on.
Nah...if it's football and tv will show it...I'll be there.
