If he wins the SB, will he retire? He'd be not only going out with his second SB ring, but having arguably the best season of his career and setting all kinds of records. Few get to go out on top like that.

Why would you give up a 20 million dollar a year job when you're still at the peak of your game?

Yeah, Elway and Bettis went out on top with SBs, but they were wearing down and were not still dominating game in/game out.

Just because he is a bronco, does not mean he has to follow the example of the other great bronco QB....

No, he'll be back. He is due to have another surgery in the offseason, so he will likely be good to go for another 2-4 years.

He missed an entire year of football, severely threatening his chances of catching Favre's numbers.

So NO, he won't retire. I've talked with a few people in his camp about this and he still has alot left in the tank.

It depends on what doctors tell him after the season. If they say he is putting his neck at considerable risk he would retire, if not he comes back. Just what I read.

My mind would be blown if he didn't run Denver's offense next year.

It's not just the money. None of these really ever want their careers to end.

Uncle Grady seems less than convinced. :pound:

This thread is enough to lift the spirits of Drew Brees, Brett Favre and Tom Brady fans everywhere. They see a glimmer of hope and they'll take it.

Why would Brees, Brady and Favre fans care? Manning doesn't have anything to do with their teams.

Peyton loves playing the game too much to retire unless his body is telling him he can't do it anymore.

I think yes, unless they believe they can win back to back SB's, which is a roll of the dice no matter who you are or how good you are at the time....He'd be smart to retire on the peak of the mountain and I think he is a man of integrity that will make his decision on something besides money....He is filthy rich already..
