The 6 shots can make a difference so lets skip that by looking at rebounds per 100 possessions. 22 to 20 to Whiteside. Advanced metrics rebound rate goes Whiteside 24% to 22%.....wait I Found it!!! Offensive rebound rate Gobert has 13.6% to 12.8 found one where Gobert wins at rebounding.

So all that we have now is your claim that as a team the Heat has lesser rebounders as a team, but we saw those side by side as well and we know that is not true........

What I am talkinga bout is the ability to hit an 18 footer and spread the defense instead of being someone who doesnt need to be guarded outside of 5 feet from the rim.

When Whiteside is on the floor- the middle of your offense is going to be clogged. The lanes that are WIDE OPEN when you have Kevin Love sitting in the corner- are simply not there when you have Whiteside sitting in the middle.

Marcin Gortat shot 58% from the field. No one is going to say he is a good shooter. Dwight Howard had a 63.3% FG ---- you think Dwight Howard is a good shooter? You think he has to be guarded outside of 10 feet because he converted a high percentage of his dunks and layups?

honestly...I cant think of a team in a worse position in the whole league outside of the Nets and maybe Atlanta (though Atlanta will actually have a really good shot at a true franchise guy like Bagley or Porter).

As i have been saying:

Miami is:

(i) a mediocre team in the East. Worst place is to be in the middle- and its exactly where they are--- best case 6th seed, worst case about 10th i would say. A snowballs chance in hell of making it out of the first round.

(ii) no cap room anytime soon- and not one guy on a "steal" contract like a Jae Crowder with the Cavs. A lot

(iv) No star power what so ever.

(v) a center who is more interested in his stats than actually winning who is prone to mental lapses.

(vi) a sg who is only happy when he is "the man"- but hes not good enough to be "the man" on any kind of real team.

(vii) extremely weak, in relation to the rest of the East, at the small forward and power forward units. Small forward in particular is really weak.

(viii) a team President working on borrowed time who's lost his touch. No longer able to woo major free agents. Have to settle for 3rd or 4th tier free agents like Kelly Olnyk.

Maybe start a thread of where you feel the Heat will be over the next several years?

i mean- we pretty much know where they are going to be...they have locked themselves in salary cap wise and dont have any major draft assets nor are likely to have them

somewhere between 6th and 10th in the East and a first round knock out if they make the playoffs. enjoy

because the Heat had Dwayne Wade, Joe Johnson, Luol Deng, among others while Whiteside only took up a miniscule amount of payroll

now that Whiteside and Dragic take up nearly half the Heat's payroll- and the rest is spent on mediocre players like Tyler Johnson, Kelly Onlyk, James Johnson (etc.) they wont win anything.

A center that (i) cant pass, (ii) cant shoot, and (iii) is too slow/lazy to guard the PnR taking up about a 1/4 of your cap space pretty much assures you wont be winning any kind of playoff series any time soon.
