As youtube is blocked for me at work, but as I did a Tommy post on the Dodgers board today, dare I assume that this has something to do with Dave Kingman?

It does. 35th anniversary, I believe.

Indeed.

An all time rant classic.

:omg:

I just read your post. Either great minds think alike, or we both read Hardball Talk.

Or all of the above? :)

I like the ring of all of the above.

:yahoo:

One of my main self-appointed functions on the main MLB board on CBS was to go and find all the interesting baseball stories I could find on any given day, and bring them to the board as their own stand alone threads.

The haters would complain about me being just a "cut and paste poster", whereas my few fans saw this for what it was intended, to make it easy to go to just 1 site, and see pretty much all items of baseball interest in one easy to locate place.

The Hardball Talk area of NBC sports is my new go to place for new info first, at least since the no fun police IT dept. here at work saw fit to block me from rotoworld.com.

So rather than talk about interesting subjects individually they wanted to spew drivel in one giant, schizoprhenic, clusterfuck of a thread? Brilliant...

Yup. I even tried to play along there for a bit. However, that thread to me is like the movie Groundhog day, where the same subjects are discussed by the same people everyday, and the same people give the same other people shit all day long.

I like variety, and heard once it was the spice of life........

Yeah when the first CBS wave came through here I recommended making multiple threads for the various subjects and got well thought out rebuttals such as "shut up faggot" and "how about you mind your business asshole". Compelling stuff.

A warm and gentle bunch, no doubt. I still get requests to return every so often.

Maybe because I am a native Californian do I like to deal with people in a positive fashion, and don't think it is a fun good time putting people down all day?

What in the wide world of bubblegum blowing made you think of Bevacqua?

Tommy's epic Bevacqua rant where he dropped the F-bomb 7,129 times.:laugh3:

I wonder if it was better than the Kingman one that is being celebrated today?

Much. It's on YouTube. If you want, start a new thread with it sometime and we can discuss. I was also thinking we need to have a thread with the epic Padres @ Braves brawl in '84 (I think?). It was the best brawl in MLB history, complete with Mr. Padre body-slamming someone and fans getting involved.

The YouTube video code is everything in the URL after the v=

Put that code between opening and closing [ youtube ] tags (without the space before and after the bracket.

If you ever quote me on this, I will deny it, but...

I never felt the hate for this guy. Sure, he is the face of the enemy, but outside of that, he has been GREAT for the game. I actually liked the way he played to the rivalry at the 'Stick and taunted the fans. True showman.
