Does that article talk about how most of the bowl matchups for SEC teams favor the other conference (for in-conference ranking), yet the SEC typically comes out on top?

Nope. Because that theory is full of holes.

In post 231, Florida shouldn't even be bolded. Oops.

So.......about that "We always play higher ranked teams from other conferences and still win" theory that I've heard more than a couple times around here. Where'd you guys go?

Not true. Look at the conference tie-in's for all of the bowls. I've drug out the data several times over on the ESPN boards... it always shuts people up and kills the thread.

I did look at that actually. That's why I stopped after the B1G/SEC bowl tie ins. :pound:

The B1G cannot beat mid-majors and win lower tier bowls half the time. Wisconsin has lost back to back big-time bowls. Go away troll. B1G is lucky to even have a spot at the BCS table because the B1G is incapable of producing a legit national champion contender and everyone knows it.

If the SEC run ends it will be from an ACC team that has finally got their act together, Texas, or Pac12. No it won't be from OU because OU doesn't play a system that can win against upper SEC teams.

Want to go by wins:

(7) Alabama
(8) Tennessee
(10) Georgia
(11) LSU
(12) Auburn
(18) Texas A&M
(19) Arkansas
(23) Florida

8 teams in top 25 in all-time wins.

That is also including the fact that most SEC teams didn't even start playing until 1890s while other leagues such as the B1G started playing in 1870s.

Even with that, the SEC loses 1 to the NCG (last year 2). That bumps them all down for rankings.

Previously, I pulled together the tie-in numbers along with the number of teams and the SEC still had it "tougher" (i.e. #3 in a 10-team conference is technically a lower ranking than #3 in a 12-team conference).
