Arizona's resume:
5-0
shellacked a 1-5 Mountain West team
beat a 1-4 C-USA team
beat a 3-2 Mountain West team
beat a 4-1 Pac 12 team (current leader of Pac 12 North)
beat a 4-1 previously #2 in the nation Pac 12 team
Ole Miss
beat a 4-2 Mountain West team
beat a 1-5 SEC cellar dweller
beat a 2-3 Sun Belt team
beat a 3-2 AAC team
beat a 4-1 previously #3 in the nation SEC team
i would see no issue if Ole Miss was ranked like a spot or at most two spots above Arizona, but Ole Miss at 3, and Arizona at 10 (AP), or Ole Miss at 4 and Arizona at 13 (USA Today)? GTFO, there is nothing that Ole Miss has done that merits that large of a gap (other than having those 3 little letters on their jersey)
Ole Miss played:
Boise State - average computer rank: 50.25
Vanderbilt - average computer rank: 104
UL Lafayette - average computer rank: 105
Memphis - average computer rank: 49.75
Alabama - average computer rank: 7.5
Average rank of opponents: 63.3
Arizona played:
UNLV - average computer rank: 133
UTSA - average computer rank: 105.25
Nevada - average computer rank: 64.25
California - average computer rank: 39.25
Oregon - average computer rank: 11.75
Average rank of opponents: 70.7
Ole Miss has played a slightly better schedule. And in terms of OOC schedule Ole Miss' was significantly better. Basically having played Vandy already is killing Ole Miss' overall SOS. However they don't have control over that.
Two simple reasons.
#1. Arizona trailed Cal by 32 points in the 4th quarter
#2. Arizona needed a Hail Mary to beat Cal at the end.

I would put Zona ahead myself, but wasn't Ole Miss in the top 25 entering the 2014 season? Arizona was nowhere near the top 25 either.
yep, further illustrating the worthlessness of preseason polls (LSU was a preseason top 15, LMAO)

Simple, Ole Miss beat the anointed one.
