Including the apology?

The Boston Herald apologizes

In their May 14, 2008, issue the Boston Herald published an apology to the Patriots and their fans for publishing the February 2, 2008, story that cited an unnamed source in alleging the Patriots had taped the Rams' walkthrough prior to Super Bowl XXXVI.[13] The newspaper said that while they believed their source to be credible, they never viewed a videotape of the walkthrough, or talked to anyone that had. Thus, they wrote, they should not have published the story, which they deemed to be false, "in the absence of firmer verification."[13] The next day, Boston Herald Editor-in-Chief Kevin Convey took full responsibility for the publication of the story, while standing behind the work of Tomase and the Herald's sports department.[64]

So you really think the pats got a $500,000 fine and lost a draft pick over a Jets regular season game?

And disregard all the players that don't agree with Cowher?

Whatever supports your argument dude. And makes u feel better. Head coaches will not blame anything other than their team. See Jason Garrett - after the packers game.

That's what head coaches do.

Yes all of this is my ass talking.

Or you can go back and read the articles by HOFs and All Pro NFL players.

You really think that was the only time the Pats ever videotaped anyone? It's pretty obvious the punishment didn't fit the crime. $500,000 and a 1st rounder?

Please dude. Your denial mode is pathetic

Look, it's pretty clear you've never read up on the topic. That Pats were fined for the Jets game because they had specifically been told in a league memo not to videotape from the sidelines and they did it anyway. There has never been an investigation of the Pats conduct with regard to the Steelers. The Pats have never been punished for anything to do with the Rams or Steelers. I'm sorry you've made up a narrative for yourself, but it's not true.

The best you have are two players bitching about losing the game (gee, I wonder if they have any bias), and a head coach, for that same team, that has said that if it did happen it wasn't a big thing.

Never mind the NFL covering up the ray rice elevator video.

Oh but they wouldn't do that with the Pats videos that were turned in from 2000-2002.

No way :L

After meeting with Walsh, Goodell said of a further investigation: "I don't
know where else I would turn, but I reserve the right to review new information
if it comes up."
Walsh sent eight tapes to the league that show the Patriots
recording the play-calling signals of five opponents in six games between
2000 and 2002, one of which was the 2002 AFC Championship Game that Porter's
Steelers lost to New England 24-17.

Absolutely nothing to see here.

Unreal.

And $500,000 and a 1st rounder for a regular season game. AND that was the only time it happened!!

C'mon!!

Why wouldn't the NFL announce they were punishing the Pats for conduct in 2001-2002 then? Why punish them for "just a Jets game" as you say, when the alleged larger sins occurred 6 year prior? You've thought this through, right?

Why would any company say their product was tainted? How would the cash machine of the NFL benefit from Admitting one of their champions cheated? Can u say WWF?

Why would the NFL say they didn't have the video of Ray Rice in the elevator? Then TMZ got it?

You really need to buy some of these gold chains I have for sale.

NFL is worried about tainting their product? If that were true, why
1) Fine the Pats for the Jets game in the first place?
2) Fine the Saints for bounty gate?

Don't both instances cast a shadow on the league?

The NFL has gotten out of hand. The refs, BS off the field.. It's all about money.

I wish I knew all the shit that is really going on. Fixing games... These refs have been so bad.

NFL fined the Pats against the Jets because they finally got busted!! or was that really the only time?

Rams players said right after the Super Bowl that they had our plays. 14 point favorites.

Again you dodge the ray rice question... As if the NFL doesnt hide evidence.

Gold chains.. 2 for $100! :wash:

If you go off pure skill and remove the sketchy practices the patriots thrive on Brady would not live up to his hype. Rodgers, Peyton, Wilson, Bree's and Eli have all done it without needing an edge or help. Eli has Brady pegged

And back to the original question. Did the NFL punish the Patriots for videotaping the Steelers before the 2001 AFC Championship game?

Already answered that question. Just the fact you keep going back to it either means you like to run in circles or you just flat out know it's true.

Why do u continue to dodge my question on Ray Rice?

I've asked it 5 times now.

Why would the NFL act like they didn't know the Ray Rice elevator video existed?

So TMZ could call them out? Please dude. Do the math.

Which is going to put another dark spot in the NFL as a whole and lead to more problems

Actually no it's not, as the hours go by more and more information is coming out that this type of play happens all the time including in the NFL.

Looking for video now, but it's been brought to my attention that the Lions actually tried this type of play against the Pats earlier this season.

Used in the Alabama LSU game.

Jimmy Johnson stating he saw this play as early as 5 decades ago in a High School game.
